With an adapter for the power source I'm 99% sure you'll be fine.

You just need a plug adaptor - the little box (cant remember the name) on the power cord acts as a convertor to control the power going into the computer and will have a figure printed on it detailing the voltage range. All that I have ever seen show currents varying from 120-240v and therefore work in the US and UK.

I bought one five years ago in the States and it still works over here.

nearly everything is dual voltage these days so all you'll need is a plug adaptor..... although cross you fingers nothing goes wrong otherwise you'll have to post it back to the US for warranty claims - unless its they have a place in the UK....

I had a US PC for ages - it was fine!!

I have used a US PC from time to time. The only tiny problem I had was changing the time to GMT and the Office default language to English (UK) and setting up the internet connection. However if you buy a new laptop in the US and then try bring it into the UK then the customs and excise people may want some tax!
