Significant that LK sold so quickly?

With the transfer window having only just opened is it significant that we unloaded Knight so quickly? Do we need the Leon money before we bring in other players, if so what would have happened if we hadn't sold him in this window?

I can only assume that Mcghee has one or two players already lined up so felt happy to sell Leon quickly rather than try and hang on a bit to see if any other better offers came along.

62k wont go far.

On top of other investments it could prove very handy indeed. For a start that would buy two Wayne Hendersons at the quoted price.

We are still not sure whether Chelsea will take their 50%. Teams have waived it in the past. (You can but hope)

Is that including signing on fees and wages?

His transfer request was handed in before Christmas so I am sure other clubs were aware of his availability before Jan 1st.

Good point, we were planning expenditure here anyway so this should now make a small amount available elsewhere. I seem to recall yesterday some people were moaning because we were spending money on keeper instead of spending it elsewhere. Well now we can.

Was it 'quickly'?

Knight handed in his transfer request two weeks ago. Assuming they accept this request. Clubs are then kind of obliged to circulate the infromation around other clubs. Swansea may have registered interested a fair few days ago.

I think it adds a bit to the pot which is very useful.

May well help finance a decent loan (not that McShane wasn't) so has to be good news all round.

Wages saved from Leon, who perhaps was one of our highest earners.....

What other investment?

The official line is we are skint, surely?

Perhaps we have learned from Chelsea and others to not advertise funds, otherwise clubs will hold out for higher bids. Of course I could be an eternal optimist here....
