cant see it anywhere on here so .....

Boss Steve Coppell confirmed after today's game with Blackburn that the midfielder is off to pastures new.

"He's gone," Coppell simply stated. "I know exactly where - but I'm not allowed to say," and the Royals boss declined to say any more.

Sidwell, 24, joined the Royals in January 2003 from Arsenal.

The England under 21 international played 182(+5) games in a Reading shirt, scoring 30 goals.

He is now free to join any club after declining our offer of a new contract.

He has been linked with a host of clubs, with speculation rife that he will sign for Chelsea.

Everybody at Madejski Stadium would like to wish Steve all the very best for the future.

no sidwell on july 27th then

In his position, and assuming the Chelsea stories are true, he wouldn't choose Newcastle, surely?

fair play to the lad - yeah he'll never play football again but £90k a week for doing f*** all is good business in my book :)

They'd be mad to get rid of Essien. He's their best player.

In midfield but not as a defender.
