Bedford Must say I'm not too worried if we win or lose...don't need a replay. Obvious would like to win, but not top priority...league far more importance.

personally I think we should take this incredibly seriously. When you are in the third division, you are not expected to do much and a cup run is a money making exercise, however in the second division you are expected to do far better...Cardiff/Millwall all reaching the final recently.

Yes, I do remember Walton & Hersham. The only way we should take it lightly is is we publicly state that we are not interested in the FA Cup and do not care whether we win or lose. And that would be daft for any number of reasons, particularly financial if wrexham were to go on to an away fixture against a big premiership club, so the answer to the question is "no".

Agreed. But Poyet given just half an inch would put the whole development squad out on Saturday. Of course we have virtually no chance of winning the thing, but a plum draw in the next round would bring much needed (transfer?) finance into the club.
There is no question of Albion taking Wrexham lightly. We've just won for the first time in 5 games, and we need to keep winning just because confidence breeds confidence.
Of course, he'll take advantage of squad rotation here but the players coming in will know they are playing in the first team and that is the level they will be expected to play at. Some of our team picks itself in my opinion anyway. Ash Barnes needs a run out. Hall and El Abd also have to start if only to get 90 minutes of understanding under their belts before the other two league games without Greer.

Lets not forget Kingstonian away, 1994 I think. 2-1 defeat with a late overhead kick.
They will run their guts out closing us down and as we have seen some of our players panic a bit if rushed in their passing game, if we player Kaz and Buckley, Noone we should beat them with a bit to spare but they know our danger men, so those players can expect to be roughed up a bit, Noone especially if he plays. We may need Gus's patient game and wait till they tire but they are not top of their league for nothing, so I think we can expect a tough and physical game for sure.

Yes. Yes, of course we should. I don't see the point in treating them with any substance. Personally I would play a mixture of gully's girls and the ball boys. I mean we are the mighty brighton and hove of albion. What chance has a team top of a division only three below us on a run with great momentum, got? Since when has a team from a lower division ever beaten someone from a division or more above them? It's ridiculous to think our players should be playing any more than at 50%. I'll be disappointed if some of our players even run after kick off. A strolling pace should be more than enough.

When an underdog team come to a great stadium with nothing to lose, it's likely to be very dangerous for the home team.
Just look at palace last year for instance.

It may be an old cliche, but "Fail to prepare, prepare to fail" has always proved true for me. Never take an opposition lightly, even if it is just showing them some respect. If you don't, you can't complain if you don't win.

Personally I don't think of Wrexham as non-league. We're not up against a team of postmen and gas fitters - these are pros, many of whom must have played at a higher level.
2,000 fans behind them, with no expectations of winning - they'll enjoy their day. It's the Brighton boys who'll be under the most pressure, particularly if it's goalless at half time and the home fans are getting restless.
Taking nothing for granted here.
