Should we be worried about Leeds

I just don't see Leeds matching Gus' ambition atm, maybe one day they will be back on the straight and narrow and would be more appealing, but right now Gus and Brighton are on the up and I think it would take something special to take him from us!

I think that as the season goes on, we will have more of this.

certainly i can see Gus going sometime, especially if are mid table not really going anywhere this year, then a Leeds United type side waving stuff under his nose will no doubt be something we will have to put up with.

I can see him going to west Ham personally. The Gold's wont put up with Big Sam if they dont look like they are bouncing straight back.

I know some fans are blinkered when it comes to their own club, but I honestly think Gus is going to see this through, he has started something big and he is not going to bail out now all his hard work is starting to pay off, i generally feel he is here for the long run and currently no club could temp him away. His relationship with TB looks solid and he seems to get supported with whatever he wants and i dont think he is going to get that anywhere else.

Budgetary constraints at Leeds will not be tempting a manager with the backing Gus has from TB.

This. Budgetry constraints at Leeds are around £11k max for a player weekly wage. Thats why they have been missing all sorts of potential targets.

Its Bates all round, bleeding them dry. Cant see him going there.

If Leeds get rid of Grayson then they are bonkers. He is a very good manager, doing the best in difficult circumstances. Its Bates that should be hounded out of Leeds.

I would say they have a better squad then us though.

It's a strange thing, it feels to me that on paper every team is better than ours, because they have all been in the championship for so long or have come from the premiership. Guess we might just have a bit of an inferiority complex at the moment. Saturday was a good test and we showed we can play at this level, and can hold our own so I don't think the lure of a few Leeds has-beens would be a big enough draw for Gus!?

Thankfully, the timing's all wrong. We were vulnerable to losing Gus a year ago, but Grayson was doing OK after their promotion. Now we're Championship with players Like CMS and Buckley in the line-up he'd be a fool to go to Leeds.

I don't think Gus will leave this season but if he did the most likely destination could be somewhere like Newcastle.

You all make very convincing arguments, thank you for putting my mind at ease  .

It was on Talksport re Grayson being given 4 games but probably just rumour mill.

Even before their thumping on Saturday at SCC, I thought their squad looks distinctly average and I reckon they will finish bottom half. I would be amazed if Gus left us for them, we are in far better shape. How can Grayson's job be at risk. He took them up 2 years ago. They had a good season last season.....madness.

I'm sure Leeds will come in for Gus if they get rid of Grayson. He would probably be their number 1 target.

However, I am equally sure that Gus would turn them down as things are at present, and if it came down to money, then Tony would match any offer.

Gus can create history with us, he'd be haunted by history with them. PLUS we have more money and resources. Who'd want to work for Ken Bates?

Beautifully put Crouchy. He'd be bloody MENTAL to head off to that shambolic outfit at this time.

Even less than Leeds, I honestly cannot see GP ever wishing to go to West Ham, losing his autonomy and working for whatsitsname.

Well, there'd need to be a fair bit of backtracking for that to happen. Karren Brady, in something of an error of judgement, jumped upon a reply Gus made to a journo's question about whether he was going to WHU before BFS got the gig, and criticised Gus for turning down a job that he was never in the running for. What was he supposed to say? I would have thought that Karren Brady, of all people, would know how the media works. And, let's be honest, if they never considered Gus then they have absolutely no idea what they are doing, football wise. I am not convinced that Gold, Sullivan and Brady's business view of football would sit well with Gus anyway. I can't see them agreeing the type of managerial contract that Gus was so vocal about either. Allardyce is on a two year deal, Gus is a longer term thinker.

Why would Greer go to brighton, they don't have a proper ground, it's a sideways move...

I was told by a Leeds contact that it's an awful lot less than £11k. Maybe the existing players that have remained are around that figure but the number given to me was strikingly low at 6k. It's difficult to imagine that Bradley Johnson was demanding upwards of 10 grand but maybe I am wrong.

Do they? The one Leeds fan I work with here sums up his thoughts on Bates as as "of course he's not perfect, but I wouldn't swap him right now - he's the right man at the moment".

The travelling Leeds support didn't appear to share that chap's view at Saints on Saturday.

I would've thought they (WHU) would be a no-no now tbh. The Porno Twins have a history of hanging onto their managers even when everybody else can see that it's gone terminally tits-up. In my view they'll hold on to Allardyce if he gets 'em in the play-off places or better, or sack him at the end of the season if they're crap. Either way, I can't see Gus heading off up there any time soon (although far stranger things have happened). Mind you, I'm assuming that we'll have a fairly decent season & TB will be happy with the SP come May-time...

Probably working!
I worry about Gus going to spurs once 'arry takes the England job. Gus said last year sometime he would only leave for a club which was 'out of this world' Leeds are not that!
The fact is when people realise how good a manager he is, he will be linked with every job.
I am confident he will see out the season (at least) with us.

Also Gus has got us playing the way he wants now, he doesn't want to have to start the process all over again for a team that's not in the top 6 or 7 in the pl!
