Should Norman Cooke buy out Dick Tight?

how much is the whole club worth?

From the Argus archive, first published Friday 5th Mar 2004:-

"Norman Cook, alias DJ Fatboy Slim, has poured in an estimated £800,000 for an 11 per cent shareholding and to help keep the club afloat, including payment of players' wages".

That suggests either that the answer then might have been something like £7.3 million
:jester:
or (more likely) that Norman wasn't interested in the value of his slice of the action, but was simply chucking some money at the club.

More to the point (from the same source):-

"Multi-millionaire reinsurance specialist Billy Brown also has 11 per cent of the shares but neither he nor Cook wanted a seat on the Board".

? Is this based on the asumption that 11% is worth 800k? The article states that not all of his 800k was converted to shares (used for salaries) so your figure is not accurate.

This thread is like a large circle...pointless.

Fatboy has gone on record saying that he doesn't want to become chairman and doesn't want to have the hassle of running the club. Who can blame him or anyone seeing the shit Knight & Perry get on here!

LOL ok what about this...

Why would Dick Tight want to give up the club to someone that once went on Top of the Pops and sung 'Caravan of Love' with the Housemartins :lolol: :lolol: :lolol:

£7.3 miilion? Based on what the assets!

Cant belive that but what I can belive is that it would take that much to pay back the current board what they have put into the club.

It's not entirely pointless. I'm quite keen to know how much the club is valued at and how much it would cost to buy in etc (not that I've got any cash to invest but it would be useful if the public knew. I wonder how many people are not interested with investing because they think it is a lot more expensive than it actually is?)

True - but don't you think they'd have come forward by now?

I dont know, so why not release the details. DK did say that things at the club would be transparent under his stewardship.

There is a position in which all accounts are published. It wouldn't take a genius to look at the shareholding increases. When the club was originally bought by Knight - £1.5m bought 49.5%. Since then, the shares which are bought will lead to a reduction in percentage so it is difficult to say that £x will buy x%.

Currently I would estimate that to buy the club (and shares which are not privately listed will be worth whatever the seller wants- and new shares are unlikely to be sold for less than the price per shaare paid by other investors) that the figure of £7m would be reasonably accurate.

the fact it wasn't all converted to shares is not an indicator of what it was used for.

before the new board came in - all capital was loan capital (can be recalled at any time or at a pre determined time). All directors have now converted to share capital (only valued what someone is willing to sell at/pay.)

Other investors are a mix of shares and loans. Loans will be on terms agreed which will not put club at risk.

The money whether shares or loans will be used for the same things e.g. pay wages.

if we want a chairman

do we want one who is a fan commited to the club or do we want a super rich playboy with no real commitment like a russian billionare. or an autotrader publisher with no real commitment to the club, just an ambition to hoover up the sky money and sell on for a profit.

or do we want a minor celebrity.with minor wealth and a habit of changing his team at a whim.

say what you like about DK.at least he is a fan

you lot would have welcomed greg stanley.chelsea through and through
