well a question was asked and answers were given , did you expect 100% vote either way , people have their own opinions which differ .......i personally think he's a bit young to be given a knighthood , i also think he's up himself.......nothing to do with skin colour at all ...

Of course I didn't expect a 100% landslide either way, but I've been on this board for 15 years now and I've seen enough of these threads myself to suspect that skin colour might have a part to play despite the objections. I'm sure you'd agree that 15 years is enough time to see a rather large sample size, no?

And the thread is called Lord Beefy. Don't know how to post a lock, lots of people criticising it, not sure if tax avoidance is brought up, as as I said earlier there were loads of other reasons why it was BS

No answer to any of my points then? Fair enough
Because all the points you've made in that post have already been covered earlier in the thread.

Unlike Weststander I really can't be bothered to repeat the same things over and over again.

Maybe you could just read the thread? Oh and then show me where Beefy was slagged off for being knighted,?

This isn't going well it's it......

That's him being made a Lord for supporting Brexit.

He was already Sir Ian. It's not the same.

I don't know what point your trying to make anymore, people are allowed opinions yours is pretty narrow and your way of expressing it is pretty odd. As I said the thread is called Lord Beefy, tap it on the search field

I obviously dont care much about knighthood, like most countries we stopped that stuff a 100 years ago but I accept its a cute tradition of yours that really doesnt harm anyone.

What I find interesting is the tax argument. Are you saying that all of the Sir Fat Fecking Feodalists and Sir Big Bad Bankers never mess around with their taxes? Are you saying that none of these guys - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Businesspeople_awarded_knighthoods - have a bank account in some tax haven?

Already answered that one. This is getting unseemly. I suggest a tactical withdrawal on your part.

We can only deal with facts, not race motivated innuendo.

LH pays full UK taxes on his UK earnings. Mercedes Benz Grand Prix Limited are a UK based company, so not a hint of tax avoidance and they employ LH on reportedly £40m a year. He'd pay about 45% of that in tax and NI, so £18m.

Then because he's an overseas resident living in a tax haven, as are many British sporting and arts stars, they/he may well be paying no or a very low rate of tax on their non-UK worldwide income. I've not heard a politician yet, even your mates Corbyn/McDonnell, say that Brits residing overseas should be forced home or be compelled to pay UK taxes when they don't reside here. It wouldn't stand up in any court.

Good post.

Lewis works all around the World. I’m not sure where some people realistically expect him to live? A lot of the international jet-set live in Monaco, it’s set-up from them there but generous tax levels are just part of attraction, there is a lot more to the place than that. Living on the edge of an F1 circuit has got to be a huge appeal.

Also, I’m sure Lewis could find a way of not paying the £18m to our UK taxman if he wanted, most rich people who live abroad do. He hasn’t because he has values and is a good person.

Here’s a paper that feels it has to highlight a black man with money (as though it’s wrong):

Because you've abandoned your normally right wing/laissez faire politics/economics, always very anti socialist which would encompass higher taxes, on one issue ... Lewis Hamilton.

Did you previously start threads or post against the tax arrangements of Faldo, Button, Coulthard or Poulter? My guess would be not once, perhaps you had no interest.

Which leave the odour of disdain towards a black bloke who had the courage to speak up about racism.

Keep politics out of sport

I'm agnostic on this. Worse people have been given knighthoods for less. But Hamilton hasn't really done anything for anyone apart from being a good Formula 1 driver. Rashford for example has already done more in his short career to use his influence for good.

People using race as a weapon need to grow up.

How convenient for you

That's an amazing comeback. But you are a benefit scrounging racist.

Yeah, it is actually pretty convenient that you have absolutely no leg to stand on with any of your arguments. Ever.

Post some blather, put a dunces hat at the end and say "regards".

I call you out. I find it funny. It's so easy.

It's like a cat toying with a half dead mouse. Or Hislop vs Patel. I could always bump into 2nd gear, but why bother? Your Mondeo would still be miles behind.

My nipper's morning porridge has a higher IQ than you, but at least we agree about trainers. Those Boss ones you posted were nice, shame that the taxpayer had to fund the purchase though. Not keen on people who just take from the system.

BLM has two definitions.

The organisation you’re referring to, imho in part discredited with far left politics and the defund the police crap. With some shit stirrers trying to make out things are as bad here as in the US, ironically stoking up division.

Then the wider movement, with a great motive, lacking aggressive militancy and beginning to make real change happen. Keeping the wider public on side.
