The irony of the situation is that Dick Tight may well end up doing what Archer failed to do and that is take us down into the conference, one bad season if we are relegated and we will join Oxford, Wrexham, Cambridge Utd etc with all the other ex league clubs.
Due to the lickers with their rose tinted specs on I expect Dick Tight and his ego to stick around for a while but if anything went tits up with Falmer he would be finished.

...in your opinion. Others believe that DK is still the man for the job. Many supported his decision to bring back MA. Granted it has failed but it was a gamble, which is what football is about sometimes. It makes it all more interesting.
Dick Knight saved this club - 12 Years ago!! - Last year Dick knight f***ed up Fact - He must go if he thinks anything of this club - He should NEVER have sacked Dean (or any manager that got us to 7th) and he left Mickys sacking far too late - I hope and pray that Russell Slade can get us out of this mess caused by Dick - It was good to see passion and fight from a manager in the dug out

Why should Knight quit? When he had more of a say we won back-to-back league titles and ended up in the championship. These days he comes across as more of a mouthpiece rather than in full control yet we are doing worse.
As for comments like 'destroying the club', I think that's insulting to a guy who put in time, effort and money to keep the club alive when no-one else did. I think that's more than earned him the right to make a few mistakes now. Get off his back.

In an ideal world - YES, he should go, a younger man should come in and Dick should be made Life President. In the the real world - NO, he has to stay.
Ultimately, it's down to the players we've got to keep us in this division. I'm happy to tread water in League 1 until Falmer is built, see Dick walk out and then retire gracefully with his reputation intact.
Unfortunately, the players AREN'T getting the job done and even with my limited knowledge I can see there is muddled thinking in the boardroom.

I don't think people are saying Knights efforts in saving the club should be forgotten. Just that he has had his time. Using your example, I doubt any one who fought in WW2 would be in a strong position to fight now... They should not be forgotten, but there are now younger more capable soldiers about.
Personally I'm not not sure who could take over from Knight at the moment, and despite some monumental cock ups, he still does an awful lot of good for the club. Transfer negotiations being one of them.

Me too. It surprises me how many seem to want the Blooms to have more control, yet this is the same Ray Bloom who let Archer and Stanley take our club to the point of extinction. Give me Knight any day of the week over the Blooms

I can think of a club where over 90% of the fans want the owner out, and whose manager calls those fans 'idiots' for doing so. The same chairman has never even seen the team play.

Bhadeb is right though, he should never have sacked Wilkins, and the passing of time has only gone to show this to be more and more true.

Really? NONE of us know how the team would have performed this season with DW in charge. We may have been better off with Wilkins and without Murray (especially given the latters injury problems), or we may not.
Opinion is not the same as fact, FACT.

The FACT is that since making that particular decision the team has gone backwards at an alarming rate of knotts.
Of course it could just be purely coincidental that it happened when we changed manager, but I think you're kidding yourself LP ..... and deep down, I think you know it.
