In the pre-match press conference Gus hinted that he would like to play the development squad on Saturday, if he thought it wouldn't be seen as being disrespectful to the cup, Wrexam and the fans.

I'm not concerned about the cup, and given our squad issues I think this would probably be the best option.

What does NSC think?

I think a mix would be good, perhaps half and half?

I would like to progress in this competition and Wrexham is a decent opportunity for us to do so and I think the development squad may get dicked on. Wrexham are a decent side going by the league table.

Gus is always whinging about lack of transfer funds, so playing a team to beat Wrexham surely would add to his funds, especially if we were lucky enough to get a plum draw in the 4th round.

Absolutely no for a couple of reasons. We are on the back of a great result against the Stains and it has lifted everyone around the club including us supporters, to lose on Saturday against a non league team, albeit a very strong team will mean Mondays result counts for nothing, the momentum will be lost which could have a detrimental effect going forward. Imagine the negativity on here Saturday night if thats the case. We have a great opportunity to progress and earn some money and keep the good feeling going. No disrespect to the young guys and I am sure they are a quality bunch of players, but we need experaince out there on Saturday and I think some of our key players need game time. Buckley imparticular needs game time. I would continue with Hall and JFC and maybe one more in defence, but other than that I would stick with the squad which beat Stains (albeit with Barnes and Vancelot back)
Basically...too much to lose if we change it all around.

Given how many injuries we have and how many cards we've been picking up I think I'd prefer if we didn't risk losing anymore of our better players and and instead give the young players a run out to gain experience in a game that has far less importance than a league game.

Defintely NO, look how we struggled to beat both Woking and FC United last year (and in the league afterwards), these are not easy games and Wrexham are better than both of them, full of confidence and on a long winning run, underestimate them at your peril.
We can't afford to turn down the chance of £250,000+ from the next round and as has been said the players need some wins and goals to lift confidence for everyone.

No no no no no and no again. One or two in the first team and a couple of the bench maybe, but it WILL be a difficult game and so we need to start with most of our best team. Hopefully CMS can get a goal or two and JFC and Hall can continue to impress

play the dev squad with 7 top first teamers on the bench - bring on the big guns if we are drawing or losing at 55 minutes.

With our limited number of available players, and the seven spaces on the bench, a lot of DS players will likely feature, anyway.

Doesn't the DS sometimes include plyers from th fringes of the first team, anyway?

Play 3 maybe 4. Don't believe Gus meant that anyway, just having an arrogant moment. The benefit of playing 3 or 4 is that they will get good game time with 1st teamers and experience the Amex (more) and a better test than Loxwood/Aldershot Res, this all helps with "development". Bloody certain we have got as good as prospects in our Dev squad as we could find splashing half a mill in market but they do need development and what better opportunity? Putting out an entire side is daft ... we aren't Man City/Arsenal .... feet back on ground I reckon

would of hoped he learnt his lesson last season about playing weakened sides in the cup.

Wrexham are dangerous as well. Hard game with our first choice.

plum draw in 4th round and could be worth a million quid

easier tie and another chance to progress

Bannana skin tomorrow. Don't blow it Gus
