i dont think the problem is the documentarty per se, its the showing of her dying in the car which I think people think is tasteless.

especially as her children have specifically asked for them not to show it.

Yes, they definitely should. You can't not show programmes just because it upsets someone, that of itself is not sufficient reason. If that was the case, dozens of worthwhile documentaries would never hit the screen.

And in this case there are other, stronger counter-arguments. There is still massive interest in this 10 years on, and Channel 4 have unearthed new material. It's a perfectly valid subject, especially with all the investigations still rumbling on, and unanswered questions.

Personally I still believe it was an accident, but I can understand the conspiracy theorists in one sense - things have been covered up, and they must still be asking themselves why.

So if you died in a car crash, the local paper had a photographer handy, he took a picture of your brain hanging outof your head and your wife and kids specifically asked them not to print it as it would cause tremendous distress, you would be happy for them to print it....

Ah but this is royalty we're talking about and they are different to the rest of us scrotes. You can't use reason and logic when the happiness of the two princes is at stake - lovely HANDSOME Wills and his half-brother, Harry (or "punchy" as I call him - when being protected by a bouncer)

I don't recall these two standing up in public and saying "no, let's not stop the nation on the day of my mother's funeral - there's no reason why my mother's death should consume the rest of the nation".

They seemed happy enough to indulge in this example of self importance. I guess that has created a monster which is a thirst of the plebs for all things Diana. They can't have it both ways.

The thread question is should the documentary be shown. Another question is whether the odd scene should be cut out.

To be fair Dave I don't think there are going to be any gory shots ("brains hanging out"), but Diana can be seen in the wreckage I believe.

but that is the whole point of the debate, reading the sunday papers, most puindits feel its ok to show the documentary, but cut out the offending scene.

the TV show trot out the "public interest" bollocks as a justification.

Given that the only people likely to be watching it are the readership of the Daily Express, "Diana Documentary: Does Anyone Give A f***?" would be a more pertinent question.

Leave the poor woman be for God's sake. How long ago was it she died?

It was an accident, there may be some dubious looking facts but there always are with these kinds of things.

I think it's a bit rich that Mohammed "I'm a victim of the British Establishment" Al-fayed complains about the programme when he's the one who's kept the issue in the public eye for so long.

Difficult to judge unless I have all the facts.

Will it actually present new evidence, or have anything that will help to prove, or disprove how it happened? If so, it should be shown

If, on the other hand, it has little or no new findings, then it's just a gratuitous attempt to crank up the ratings, and I'd be against it.

Couldn't give a f*** as I'm not a royal lickspittle. I won't be watching.

Agreed, it's a personal choice but all the time there's a Civil List the Royal Family are public property.
