Recommendations? Really not fussed about white sand and free piña coladas- we'd rather see something interesting. Think morocco of Italy- thoughts?

Not that I can speak from personal experience as I have never been on a honeymoon or even to my suggestion, but how about Malta...I have heard loads of positives about the place, people ridiculously friendly but not in a creepy manner, good food and pretty chilled out into the bargain, unlikely to get bothered by the worst excesses of Brits behaving badly.

Amalfi coast, beautiful scenery, emerald sea, wonderful food, romantic, trips to Vesuvius, Pompeii, Capri, Herculaneam sp?...or Sardinia if you change your mind, has best beaches in Europe, more relaxing

We went to Sardinia for ours. Amazing beaches, hot weather and great food. It's quite pricey out there though.

We went to Malta for ours a couple of years ago - a big advantage of short haul being we could get a better standard of hotel than we could have done had we gone long-haul. Loads to see and do in Malta, it has been invaded by most of Europe, Africa and Asia during it's history, so lots of different architecture and influences to be seen. Some excellent restaurants, shops and nightlife as well - sure there are plenty that people on here can recommend. You can do day trips to Sardinia as well from Malta, though we didn't.

PM me if you want to know more, and good luck with the wedding etc...
