He put one on a plate for Neal, the decline of him is my biggest worry for next season

Surely Maupey must know that he won't be a first team player next season, if we stay up.
After his miss from Ali's cross he seemed really defaulted and Lallana stepped in to have a word.

They are now asking Zola about our performance, it’s like asking Picasso what he thinks of Tony Hart

I'm aPotter fan, but what I found worrying was that after a dire first half, he didn't turn it around against a side we need to - and should - beat comfortably. He didn't have an effective plan B.

I desperately want Maupay, Connolly and Ali J not to be sh*t. But I'm more and more convinced every week that I'm destined to be disappointed. Maupay works hard but his brain just isn't quick enough. Connolly hasn't progressed, and it simply isn't working out for Ali J,

Agree totally on all 3, they just simply aren’t good enough.

The only player I would want out of the 3 to possibly be here next season is Maupay and that is only as a bit part squad player, not someone who starts most games as he does. Technically he’s awful, first touch is just attrocious and he really has no football brain.

He stands out like a sore thumb around the likes of Lallana, Welbeck, Trossard, Bissouma and even Moder now.

no need to be narky. we got two players instead and our defence is improved on last season, white has proven he can't make the step up, it is all good. i was simply commenting that every single week, on every single game thread on here you lot as a collective bemoan your lack of finishing/scoring ability. we signed raphina for less than 20million and he is not even a striker and i think has more or less scored the same as your leading scorer. rodrigo was 25million. to say there are no players out there is just a nonsense and an excuse. get a better scouting network. anyway, i wasn't here to wind anyone up. just seems a simple solution to a problem you lot whinged about all season.

Look, you’re coming onto another clubs message board right at final whistle for a hugely stressful and disappointing result.

What the bloody hell reaction do you expect? We all know we need more firepower. Hardly genius insight is it. Now sod off back to your Bielsa love in.

Just the knowledge that given a chance he is a good squad player. As he showed tonight.

A £17m fee, 260 weeks at £60k and employers NI at 13.8%.

The cost of Jahanbakhsh is £35m.

The reward - 2 EPL goals and 1 EPL assist.

A costly transfer blunder in anyone’s book.

Two crosses against little old Sheffield United haven’t suddenly justified the £35m outlay.

You have no idea how much I’d like to switch my allegiance, this result was almost inevitable. Four points dropped against WBA and Sheffield United, how is that even possible with the players we have?

I know, horrible isn't it, and I"m sick of it too, I understand your anger and frustration but I would not use your words, but its your choice.
For me, after a totally bizzare season for many reasons, I'm just pleased we yet again managed to stay in the league.
We really must improve next season though, especially against the 'poorer sides' but we have showed many times that we are a really good side.
Regarding Potter he has shown that he is a great coach but sometimes his curveballs and substitutions are a step too far, unless injury dictates.
Bringing Connolly on, who even I can see should be nowhere near the first team, deserves the pelters he gets on here from some.

Can we please stop shoehorning Pascal in at right wing back. Probably the least suitable outfield player in our squad to put there.

I thought it was a decent cameo from Ali J. Maupay and Connolly not so good.

The pass from AJ to Maupay was hit as hard as possible and behind him.
A better pass was required, not drilled at 100 mph and behind

Spot on with everything. Honest.

To be fair Lallana misses a fair few himself... I’m starting to see this as an issue throughout the team.

There’s absolutely zero *********** happening, but there’s an awful lot of fans who are royally pissed off with a terrible result against a team which is already relegated, had 4 wins all season and has lost 5 in a row.

I refuse to type that pathetic phrase that you’ve used because it makes any post that contains it utterly worthless.

I appreciate your view on this and have refrained from using it.
But Why is it only that one you object to, whilst ignoring "lickers".
It's equally childish and inflammatory/

In a relatively short space of time he created two great chances, won a couple of corners and played a lovely through ball to Trossard who messed up. Compare that to izquierdos and Connollys contributions. Add in that he rarely gets game time. Excellent is warranted

I was impressed with. AJs contribution but don't downplay Izzy please who was only on the pitch 12 minutes and came within a inch a scoring unlike Biss and Lallana who were nearer to the corner flag..

It's the same for a lot of clubs at this level, and those wages are pretty standard.

Is he worth that ? No-one is. But it's what it costs.

I'm just glad he played well tonight. He comes on with a few minutes to go normally and he's on a hiding to nothing here unless he does something amazing.

He did ok, excellent is really pushing it......

Unless you are comparing with what was already out there and then perhaps he was

When he came on first time we had width for weeks. My granny could have scored the one he laid on for Maupay
