It is enforceable where both parties are in agreement to it, and it doesn't contravene British law. That is the same for any private agreement.

A beit din is issuing judgements somewhere in north London, perhaps even as we speak. Alternative conflict resolution, by whatever name, by bodies religious, fraternal or commercial, is as old as the hills. The LCIA goes back to the 1880's, e.g.

Your right, they are both as bad as each other. Living in Luton and Peacehaven you couldn't get two places further apart. It's a shame, but again what I have seen here worries me. Is this a sign of things to come in this country? I hope not.

Rubbish. Aspects of it might be taken on board where they are not in conflict with our own law, but the more controversial things that extremists do like stoning adulterers would not, if only because the vast majority of muslims in this country would not want them to be.
