Just read a great article in Classic Rock - didn’t realise that some of the greatest rock albums were all released in one 7 week period 30 years ago - Guns n Roses - Use Your Illusions, Soundgarden -Badmortorfinger, Pearl Jam - Ten, Nirvana - Nevermind and in my opinion the best of all Metallica - the black album. As well as albums by Ozzy, Rush, REM, Primal Scream, DirecStraits, pixies and Red Hot Chlli Peppers.

Leading to the death of hair metal, the rise of grunge, start of alt-rock and thrash becoming main stream.

For those of all musical taste - listen to the Metallica 30 year anniversary Blackened Albums - which has every type of genre doing cover versions of the black album which shows how great the songs were
