Im trying to gauge how quickly it will be before Setanta Sports News goes the way of the DoDo.

Now that everyone on Virgin Media and, i assume, free view have Sky SPorts News back will anyone continue to stick with the inaccuracies and inferiour reporting of Setanta.

So the question is. You come in stick the telly on which do you put on?

They are both repetitive dribble but nevertheless Sky SN is the default tellybox channel. So I'd go for answers 1 & 3.

SSN is absolute GENIUS. The best channel on the telebox.

I'm not saying you want to sit and watch it all evening - there's only so many times you'd want to listen to the same interview with grumpy Gerrard, or watch the same clip of Ian Hume getting his skull caved in, but, if you're allowed the TV remote from the wife or kids for any 30 minutes slot, at any time of day or night, go to channel 83, and you are pretty much guaranteed;

A fit lass reading sports news.
A few highlights of soccerball.
Any really big sports strories from around the world.
League tables / top scorers form every league.

If you're really lucky, the lass will be Millie Clode or Natalie Sawyer.

All good, IMO.

Don't Sky subscribers, bizarrely, have to pay for Sky Sports News if they don't have a Sport pack? In which case there are probably still quite a lot of households who will only have access to Setanta Sports News.

As a freeview only household I can only enjoy the Sky offering. You can't watch it for hours on end but it does fill in the gaps when you aren't able to find anything particularly worth watching (95% of the time). It also just beats the radio for keeping up with several matches at once (eg Soccer Saturday).
