Reading through Digital Spy, it appears Setanta Sports and it's channels will be gone from midnight :wave:

I don't think that's likely.

When ITV digital collapsed they still broadcast everything they were scheduled to for something like 6 months after everyone knew it was game over.

It would only happen if the company lost EVERYTHING and wasn't physically able to broadcast. And as shit as their portfolio of sport is there's still enough to interest outside parties with an eye on making waves in the market who could pump a bit of money in to keep things ticking over before thieving whatever could potentially prove profitable

Under the guise of 'choice', punters were asked to pay more for what they had already been getting, as in the Sky/Setanta carve up, so not too troubled to hear it's gone tits up...

Sky can't have all their footie anyway, they've already got the maximum they're allowed next season.

The few games Shitanta do have would have to be broadcast by somebody else if they were to sell them off/give them away. And do you think it'll be to a free to air broadcaster? Will it balls

I think BSkyB will have all the Premier League games next season, and from the 2010/11 season one of the packages will be sold elsewhere.

Very much doubt they'd be free-to-air.

ESPN could make a move. They've been looking for a foothold in the UK market, wouldn't be surprised to see them come in and buy up Setanta's packages.

That's a possibility but I doubt they'd take on all of their programming. It could also mean that ESPN Classic would no longer be free-to-air :cry:
