Was waiting in chinese takeaway and read a bit in Star on Sunday that Gus is chasing Crawleys 27 year old Argentinian midfielder and could sign him in the summer.

Any views, didnt Mark McGhee turn him down when he had a trial with us.
Mind you Chris Catlin turned down Ian Wright and I think it was Mullery who
sent James Hayter home as schoolboy as not good enough, so mistakes do get made.

in the ManU game didnt seem to be a stand out player. would rather have Howell, great crossing (though clearly something wrong with him if hes played abt 10 clubs in as many years). wiki says Peterbourgh listed him when promoted in 2009, so i think he probably isnt really up to it.

Bit of a snobby comment. When was the last time you read about a transfer exclusive in one of the broadsheet papers you obviously think are acceptable? That's right. You didn't. And they would never feature League One clubs for this kind of thing anyway. Any decent transfer stories about us are likely to be in the red-tops, even if they might not all come true.

As far as rating the player is concerned I'd agree with you. May well be nothing in this I think the key word in the story is 'could'. Might have come from an agent, the journalist could just know Gus had him watched. Useful to know, doesn't mean it's actually going to happen.

They paid money for him in the summer so I'm guessing he would have signed at least a two year deal.

No thanks, might make a few league 1 SQUADS but not got a chance for me in the champ. If everything suddenly went tits up for us, I'd like to think we could bring in far far better in L1 anyway!

Prawn Curry and Mushroom Fried Rice from the chinese take away near The Star in South St Haywards Heath and I was reading it while waiting for them to cook my curry.
Ver nice it was too.

I only mentioned that I was there as I didnt read any papers on Sunday so wasnt sure if it was in any other papers.
