I believe this to be true, although I cannot remember when I learnt this fact.
It was a trailer, you can see it on youtube. Apparently they didn't have to change anything in the actual film though.

United 93 is very good as it goes.

It was VERY 9/11-esq when they dived for cover into that store, and huge clouds of dust went billowing past the windows from the collapsing buildings. I'm amazed you didn't make the connection - it was almost the same as some of the news footage on that day.

Ah yes fair point. No it wasn't something I picked up on at the time. I'd guess that the defence of that would be, that is what happens when a skyscraper collapses. 9/11 showed the world the result when a skyscraper collapses, so the images are indellibly linked in our minds. Does that mean that it should be a taboo topic for films? I personally don't think so, but I can appreciate why others might.

I hope no-one takes offence; I don't want to dismiss what happened 7 years ago or seem tactless.

On a related note, and I hope posting this doesn't cause offence, but a band called the Coup made this album cover before the attacks. It was never released though...

Despite events, aesthitically that is a shockingly badly designed cover.
