Remember going to MK dons back in the day when our fans spent most of the game singing if number oneeee was Andy Whing, if number two was Andy Whing

I do kind of miss the days in a way where such a bang average plodder like Andy Whing was a cult hero because of how shite the rest of the team was :lolol:

That's the game that stands out for me as well, he was the only one out there properly busting a gut for the lost cause despite his limited ability. Also recall it was the day we properly turned on Craig 'Snoopy' Davies after another abysmal performance.

I thought Nicky Forster did an excellent job for us.

The first striker we had in years who obviously knew how to play up front.
I work with a couple of Reading fans and almost all of our football conversations come back to how much we all love Nicky Forster. He was absolutely superb for us I thought.

From Leon Knight's 03-04 season and Forster joining in 2007 we lacked a potent marksman but Forster was SUCH a natural at that level. He had so much determination and selfishness that you need in a forward

Speaking of Leon Knight, shout out to his 4 "big man" strike partners that season who aided him in banging in all of those goals which helped us get promoted.

Darius Henderson, Chris McPhee and in particular, Trevor Benjamin and Chris Iwelumo

Darren Currie

Before he joined us, he twice made the Divisional Team of the Season despite Barnet finishing near the bottom.

22 games, 2 goals and a £250k move to Ipswich was an astute piece of business by the club then.

Beautiful footballer that had technique and touch that was well above the vast majority of the others on the field.

He won't be forgotten by me: I still recall a momentous sliding tackle he did in the pissing rain. He looked like he slid half the pitch but was probably about five or six metres - won the ball and absolutely smashed into the opposition player.

One of those players who gave it everything, every game.
Clearly remember that. It was in a 1-1 draw against Luton.

Nicky Rust... no:1 at 19 during our fall to the very bottom... not surprised that his confidence finally got shot to shit but in the beginning there were games where he was the only one stopping the other team from running away with a game.

And an FM superhero!!!!!!
