Following on from the What car do you drive, Im in process of selling my car and sure where to advertise it. Looked on Auto trader but not entirely convinced. Anyone speak from good/bad experiences????

Rubbish, dearlerships only offer book or sometimes below, ya better off getting rid of it privately, I always find the Friday-Ad is cheep and pretty good !!

Car dealers (new and used) will always show you more money on paper than your car is actually worth-when you buy a car from them (especially a fairly new one). They can do this because their selling prices are always way more than the car is worth.

Sell privately. That way your trade-in doesn't impact on the price of the car you're buying meaning you can get the price down a lot easier because they have fewer excuses (given you lots more for your old car than it's worth, etc).
