I seem to remember that Rovers didn't want to sell him to us and the 30% was the only way they would let him go. But they had to sell 'cos they were desperate for the cash - sounds familar

Look on the bright side - if he goes for £10m in a couple of years time - we get another £1m.

Actually that's crap isn't it - £2.5m - we should have got that in the first place!!

We should have got an appearance-related clause inserted.

Apparently the offer turned down previously was £750k basic with a bit more based on appearances etc. Think I read that somewhere.
