Sorry if Ive missed tyhe details but I was waiting for a flight home from spain last night and nearly choked on my beer when I opened up the first english paper Id seen for 4 days to see Bobby in a Spurs shirt.

Somebody please tell me there is a sensible sell on clause considering Dick Knoght has dropped his pants on the asking price????

There is one apparently, if the yids sell him for more than 1.5mil, but the percentage of the clause is a secret it seems.

I've seen between seven and ten per cent for any fee over and above £1.5m. So realistically, if he has a three good seasons, could be worth about £6/7m, sell-on could be worth £500,000 about the time Falmer opens for business. Not great, but could be handy.

Apparently if the yids sell him for more than £1½m we get 10% of that, then 30% of our 10% goes to Bristol Rovers thus leaving us with 7%...

What the f*** is that about! Why do we still give money to them? Is that because the 10% thing is part of the Brighton-Spurs transfer so the 30% deal with us and Brizzle Rovers has to be taken into consideration?

Jeez.

I would have thought that the 30% thing with Rovers was done & dusted now. No way can they have a say what happens to the money if Spurs sell him.
If they can, then someone has made a monumental cock-up somewhere. Also, where would it stop? After 10 transfers would they still have a claim?

I'm sure that - come the time, Chappers - a good lawyer could challenge the validity of Rovers getting any of a second sell-on. Difficult to say without seeing the contract, but basically they've got their £500k. That should be the end of it, and for a few hundred thousand it will be worth challenging.

Knowing our luck Bobby will probably 'do a John Robinson' and spend all his saleable years at the one club.

What if we had got a player in exchange, would Bristol Rovers be expecting him to play a third of his games for them?

No we would have had to pay 1/3rd of the valuation of the player in cash to Rovers.

Jeez, 10% after we got well and truly shafted on the Price, thats gutting and surely we couldve got more like 20%? And what a suprise that its a secret, seems the club dont want us to know anything thats really going on anymore.

Yeah, but who would have decided the valuation? Strange deal???

The FL or the FA

When you transfer an asset in any business you have to realise a value in the accounts. In some cases this will be 0 of no worth (free transfers etc) but where it is in lue of cash a value must be given.
