Or maybe he’s got integrity, signed a 6 year contract to buy into Tony’s vision and 5 year plan.

He was also backed by the board when many clubs might have replaced him when we went through a rough patch...I doubt he’ll have forgotten.

If you were potter and someone like Tottenham, a great club came knocking, would you really turn it down?

I know we like to think that we only sack people and they never go on to anyone better than us, but seriously....Tottenham Hotspurs or Brighton and hove Albion..... If you have a modicum of ambition they are miles ahead in world brand than us.

He should be ambitious enough to snap levy’s hand off

Nah, not now.

GPott backs himself.
He's going to have about 10 chances to manage Spurs over his career.
If IF he really wanted the Spurs job he's unlikely to take it first time round.

Why aren't they chasing the greatest coach in the world or is he happy at Mighty Leeds?

Don't be stupid, why on earth would he take such a massive step down to manage Spurs. Makes no sense whatsoever.

So you seriously believe contracts are anything but compensation packages?

Do you seriously believe next season is THE season to manager Spurs, as their 4th choice appointment?

As much risk as managing us. Could get the sack by Christmas by either club if disaster hit. At least at Spurs he would have been handsomely paid and had the opportunity to manage Spurs whereas if next season was a disaster with us that chance would probably dissappear forever.

Not sure hes in the frame for the Spurs job though.

He's not, well at least not yet, neither am I...

...yet

I'd suggest as he can go a full calendar and only win 1 game at home, with us.
He's more likely to get the sack from 12th placed Spurs at Christmas.

I find it hard to believe a young manager takes a job for the failure pay off.

No nor am I but its hardly a ' risk' taking the Spurs job is it? He may never get the opportunity again so the pay off would only be applicable if he was a failure but then again he may have the confidence to back his ability in adverse conditions.

That’s what many were saying about Benteke at Palace. Now that he is staying, I can see a top top manager joining that outfit.

Yup, Beaky will have a real problem with the volume of top quality applicants to chose from.

I love how an annual job vacancy which isn't being offered to forty something GPott (unless we're all in the fever dream of the few minds who can't wait to gloat from a position of strength) will only come round now, despite the fact it hasn't, but never again over the next 20 years.

I genuinely believe Tony and co. Would back GP if we were relegated.

That isn't a proper sentence. 'will it manifest' may have provided closure, but the whole would remain a bit of an art project. Who was that bloke who made Eraserhead?

Listening to spurs fans on radio phone in the majority of them(1s that called in) would rather Potter than some big name foreign manager. They seem to remember Brighton playing them off the park with limited resources compared to their so called superstars and the very fact he's had a few years of using youngsters and not afraid to play them!
