So that what has happened this weekend can never happen again. :lolol: Come on,why not just seed Man u,Pool,Arse, and Chel into the last four ? Cardiff City v West Brom IS NOT the DREAM final :lolol: Great weekend.

Terrible idea, you don't need Prem teams to get a good final.

How would seeding have changed things??

Other than Arsenal the other 3 were knocked out by clubs outside the top 4.

Definitely no seeding.

The beauty of the FA Cup is that anyone can draw anyone, and that's how it should always stay.

Something I've always liked the idea of and which has been used in the past - and may well still be used for all I know - in the Italian Cup, was that the team placed lowest in the league system on the day of the draw gets to be the home team.

Great stuff. The likes of Chelsea, ManUtd & Arsenal only ever playing at home (other than in replays) in the cup if they draw one another ... bloody brilliant.

I am DEAD against any form of seeding. However i just feel the BIG four will push for it ? AND Soho square will more than likely go for it. This week end has been WHAT it is all about. The BIG BOYS fall.:clap2: However just reckon 'things will change' :censored: :bigwave:

seeding the big four will never happen as it would have to be agreed by all 92 league teams and then only after getting past the full fa committee.

...most of the recent cup finals have included the big 4 and have all been dreary affairs.

That would eliminate the excitement of going on big away days to places like White Hart Lane or Upton Park though - and surely that's as fantastic as having Southampton (back when they were good) come and play in a squat like Withdean?

Quite; all the fun has gone out of it since... 1983

Seriously though, I'm sure it'll be a better final this year as the teams who will be in it will actually give a stuff about winning it; as opposed to only thinking its just another safety net to get into Europe.

I would rather watch rugby than see a Man Utd v Chelsea final.

What makes the FA Cup, the best cup in the world is that everyone has the chance of winning it. There is already a seeding system in place. That is why teams in the Sussex league start playing in June and teams from the top 2 flights do not start until January.

Change this any further and the cup will start to lose its appeal to teams outside the league and even the premiership. Teams like Lewes and Eastbourne Borough know that they are almost never ever going to win the FA Cup. To them the dream is to get through to the 3rd round and draw one of the big clubs at home.
