Well done Jimmy. NZ all out 146, but surprise surprise, England don't go for the follow on. With the forecast over the next couple of days I recon that's a big mistake if they really wanted to win this match.

Seems a strange decision as the follow on would put us on the front foot for victory probably by tomorrow night or at the worst we would require a very low score to win. or play for a draw, I cant see us winning by batting a 2nd time.

The only other thing I can think of is that this is the last test before the Ashes, so the England openers want another go.....

Cook seems to be going mad against the bowlers hitting runs for fun.

Another flop by Compton he will never emulate his uncle DCS, the original Brylcreem Boy.

Stumps 116/1 with Cook scoring 88 of them. Trott is the new Tavare.

I'm extremely worried we didn't get New Zealand to follow on. I got 15/8 for England to win this test match yesterday lunchtime. The forecast doesn't look great however we are now 1/6 to get the Headingley victory so the bookies have faith. Hope we declare around tomorrow lunchtime and take a risk......

ALWAYS enforce the follow on, especially with a dodgy weather forecast.

We will win this tomorrow, NZ are totally demoralised now.

Hope you're right mate.

They are totally at odds and carrying injured players as well, two dreadful innings recently and a third car crash at the crease will happen from around 12:45 tomorrow.

Thats surely got to spell the end of Compton opening?

86 minutes at the crease, faced 45 balls and scored 7.

Bloody hope so, he needs to go but Root will move up when Pietersen returns although I sometimes think he unbalances the side in a strange way.
