I think Seb Coe has done a sterling job for LOCOG, but have to admit I do feel a bit narked tonight when he is challenged about ability for people to get tickets, and he just says there are more than 2m people after a few thousand tickets so that's why people are struggling with the on line system.

I wouldn't feel so bad, but when having tried constantly to get tickets day after day, then Lord Coe delivers his response day after day from the comfort of his padded comfy seat in the stadium, it can seem like a slap in the face.

I'm just bitter I guess...

If you applied in the original ballot and was organised there was no problem getting tickets. I watched the super saturday athletics session, boxing and football.

Now there are loads of JCL's who showed no interest whatsoever when the tickets first came out panicking at the last minute trying to get tickets because they have all of a sudden realised this is a once in a lifetime opportunity to see the Olympics in this country. Not surprising that they are now difficult to lay their hands on.

Along with well known cycling fanatics Beatrice & Eugenie.

BBC journalists say that for their nights off, they had no trouble getting tickets for cycling, swimming & athletics evenings booked out of their own pocket back in the very first ballot.

With so many celebs successful, but millions of joe publics unlucky, for those 3 venues for the finals evenings ..... can only assume this highly paid individuals were able to put in big speculative orders for 'D' category seats on their credit cards. Increasing their chances many fold.

That's simply not true. We applied in the original ballot for athletics, swimming, boxing, gymnastics, badminton, table tennis, volleyball and rowing, and got none of those.

I applied for just under 2k's worth of tickets in the original ballot and got nothing. I've since applied at every new release of tickets running up to the games with no luck, just the usual oddities of the ticket website in being told that there are tickets available but then not available when you actually try to buy them. I've also tried every night since Friday at 10-11pm to get tickets for the following day, again no luck. So I feel justified in being a bit pissed off at the distribution of tickets.

It's a massive global event. Getting tickets is never going to be easy. I have tried like everyone else, been frustrated and got nowhere. That said, I think the LOCOG guys have done the very very best that they could and pulled off a great games. I'd still have loved tickets.

Have tickets for the paralympics thought and looking forward to it v v v much.

I guess if Seb Coe has spent the last eight years of his life devoted to getting these games and getting them organised, then I'm happy for him to get to as many events as he likes

I dont understand this, there was a group of only 20,000 people who didnt get tickets in phase 1 or 2 who had first dabs on tickets in phase 3 on a first come first served basis, surely if you followed the process through all the phases you would have ended up with some tickets? Failing that there were loads of tickets going on the foreign sites (cosport, sportsworld) even up to only a couple of weeks ago and thomas cook packages for as little as £99.

Mind you saying that Im must admit I was lucky to get Super Saturday, unforgetable experience!

I agree. However what is a bit annoying is when I hear of some people getting loads of tickets for various events that they applied for. The distribution of tickets just doesn't seem to have been evenly spread, and the ticket website is just frustrating beyond belief!

i applied for about £1,500 of tickets spread across sports and price brackets, differnet veues etc etc and got f*** all. Thats of course when i could get on the bloody ticket site.

Tried again for a few events during the games. Several evenings ive sat watching on TV right royally pissed off at seeing empty seats at events I've applied for tickets and got none

Sorry but that is not the case for everyone. I had friends and family all try for tickets in the ballot and got bugger all. We've also tried with very little luck to get resale tickets. The website is a shambles of the highest order and it is annoying when you see the royals pick and chose which events they want.
