I always feel like I might've imagined this, but I could've sworn when the ST prices were announced for this season, there was mention of a price freeze for 3 years or something similar.

Anyone else remember this?

Out of interest, how will you benefit from this?

Well I wasted money buying 2 packs and it seems I had no reason to buy them, as you dont have to show them at any point of the trip (when going by train). So if the club have to pay X amount of money to southern, its easier to get all money owed to them by adding it to the season or match day tickets, as for P&R all they would need to do is flash the ticket instead of the voucher. This just seems more sence and a chance for the club to save / make more money IMO.

Why should people pay for them to be added to season ticket prices that don't actually need them ie people who get dropped off, walk to the ground, cycle etc?

I understand you'r reason, but would you notice a £1 - £1.50 rise per game? I doubt it would be even that much, if club introduced it to every ticket I'd would expect it to be more like a 50p - 75p increase to cover getting everyone back who go by P&R, train or bus.

Because they'd be contributing towards (not fully paying for) the running cost of the transport scheme. At present, transport charges are costing the club a fortune.

We had this debate a couple of weeks ago - Beach Hut showed himself up handsomely - and it does appear to be a divisive issue. There may be methods of opting out of the Transport Scheme, though could anyone say they would NEVER use it, and if so, how could that be proved? Having opt-ins / opt-outs could prove a logistical nightmare.

The reverse of not having a transport scheme is to not have a functioning stadium.

I did not show myself up handsomely at all - put across a valid point however not prepared to carry this on.

I am sure the walkers and cyclists will be ecstatic when asked to pay extra though

Even thou I cycle I would not bother me paying a little bit extra. The travel vouchers come in handy and at least I have the option to use the P&R should I get a flat tyre or it is impossible cycle due to the weather.

Increase the price of the tickets and then say you get a FREE travel voucher with every match ticket.

If the club stick to this line then who can argue? OK its a bit disingenuous but at the moment alot of people are not paying, and if you add a charge specifically for travel people will moan forever about it.

I'm guessing we're not too far away from finding out renewal prices as we pay c6 months in advance do we not?

Price freeze for early renewals:moo:

For those of us with continuing direct debit payments, I was under the impression that we needed to opt out, if we didn't wish to renew. I am happy to do this as I plan to have an ST for many a season.

Could be wrong though.

When we bought our STs last season we were still a league one team, we'll more than likely be Championship team next season.
Were the prices last season L1 or Championship ???

I'd accept a modest transport levy even though I wouldn't need it.

By loads paying a little and having transport included, cars are more likely to use the P&R rather than annoying (some) vocal locals who could yet jepodise our progress.

However, tickets need to remain affordable and there's a big discount between ST & matchday prices, which should help ST sales.

I usually walk from Lewes but I wouldn't mind paying a bit extra if it helps the transport costs/problems
