Also - DTG. To say that without season ticket holders the club would die is complete and utter nonsense. Are you saying that just because you don't have a season ticket, you would not go to watch the Albion?

[/B]

just look at the club accounts...6 million deficit ...so 1.5 million in advance of the new season keeps the club afloat.....I understand that not everyone can afford a season ticket.....no fan is better than another...but with no Season ticket holders the chances are there would be no club

I am a season ticket holder...and I am going to Orient....

Until we get a game like West ham and then the STH's like to remind the rest of us who are superior.

I cannot understand what difference it makes whether 1 or 501 STH go to Orient and am suprised that an intelligent man like Lord B should see the need to post such a question on Ask The Club.

This can only be to wind people up and continue the unrest about ticket allocation for games against well known teams.

The question is asked because the answer is important. Any future allocation of away matches surely depends on STH demand, which in this case seems to be embarrasingly low.

4000 season ticket holders = £1.8 million in revenue(approx)
4000 non season ticket holders = £2.2 million in revenue(approx)

The only difference is that the club gets the cash up front rather than on a game by game basis.

Ironically, if we were at Falmer we would not have this conversation. I wonder how many the current 4000 STH's would be STH's at Falmer where there would be less of a need to buy a Season ticket?

Its the cash up front that is important..it keeps the club afloat when there is no gate money

There are under 4000 STH and under 4000 floaters
If you look at the accounts you will see that gate receipts are no where near 4 million...2005 accounts disclose just under 2.5 miliion as gate receipts ....of which 1.5 million was "payments in advance" ie STH

Does that mean that we cannot afford to play at Falmer and that it is better to stay at Withdean? We will have less STH at Falmer as more people will be able to pay on the gate so there will be less demand for Season Tickets...as it was with the Goldstone.

Besides - you missed my point. My point wasn't about us getting 4k STH & 4k non STH at withdean...It was about the pur fact that NON Season ticket holders who go to every home game puts considerably MORE money into BHA FC than Season ticket holders.

They do ...but not at a time when the club has no money coming in

I do agree with the fact that STH help the club tick over during the summer, but surley my 20quid every forthnight means just as much to the club as what a STH is one a year.

The club can't lose there floating fans, look at rotherham last weekend, the crowd was 5,444. I belive theres 4,500 STH's so say 100 didn't turn up that leaves 4,400. Rotherham took 150 so 4,550 meaning that there was only 1,000 albion fans who wasn't STH's and that includes the bring a mate for a fiver.
Port Vale was 300 lower, so only 700 nonSTH's attended.

Earlier in the season we were getting crowds around 6,500 so double the total of Port Vale (non STH).

So maybe STH's should stop thinking about how they are the life blood and trying actively to get more people to give a game a go, i'm concedering giving bristol city a miss as there seems to be alot of bitching at games and i'm sure i could find over stuff to do that will be a lot cheaper without the argro

Everyone needs to encourage new fans ...but..the football will need to improve to convince floating fans to attend

I agree with the first part of the para absolutely 100% - After all, if only STH's went to watch a game then the club WOULD go out of business. People need to realise that supporting a football club isn't about how you decide to buy your tickets, its about going to actually watch and encourage the team you support.

STH's and Non STH's are as vital to the club as each other - End of story.

The second part of your paragraph DOES worry me -because if that is how people are starting to feel, then the club will go out of business as without supporters such as yourself, there will be no money coming into the club on a weekly basis and that DOES NOT pay the wages...

Just proof that the club desperately needs to do more to attract those who have not committed themselves to a season ticket.

1 We won't be allowed to stay at Withdean according to Lord B and co. That is why the Falmer campaign is so important.

2 Be honest. How many non-sth go to EVERY home game?

1. Whilst I have the very highest respect for Lord B and everything he has done...He does not know exactly what will happen if in the unlikely event we do not get planning permission for Falmer - Although I do appreciate that he knows a hell of a lot more than I do on this subject!!!

2. Last game:
Attendance 5444
STH = 3500
Away = 150
Non STH = 1794

No Falmer more than likely means no BHA.....unless there a large influx of new investment ...we have been losing approx a million a years in recent times
