I still am perplexed.

My phone - Motorola G8 power lite does not support NFC.

In Google Pay the season pass QR code is an elongated rectangle and not a, I assume readable, QR square, while all the writing around it is perfect and as it should be.

As it stands I can't use NFC or QR to get in - I can see a long queue forming behind me.

Any ideas as to why the square isn't a square and how I make it square.

I have NFC and the KFC app, and my ST is a long rectangle.

It's simple really: user error.

Mine is a rectangle as well, with no writing around it other than ‘season pass’. Looks like the barcode on a print at home ticket so will probably be scannable if you don’t have NFC.

Obviously the issue is PICNIC, of that there's no doubt.

But in fairness to me - this time, I've been bloody close to the dizzying heights of the 20th century with my skills!

I have Google Pay.
I have my S/T loaded into Pay.
I have all the details correct.

I have a rectangular QR square.

This morning I did all the NHS stuff and now have

NHS ap on phone
Covid Pass open
QR SQUARE ready to go.

I've even got them side by side on the opening screen.

Were they both QR squares I could be through the turnstiles in seconds, pretending I was freakin Neo from The Matrix.

Instead I'm bloody sure I'm going to be stood there looking like drooling buffoon who's let the 21st century completely pass them by.

It seems as though all tickets downloaded to android phones have this rectangular code on them. I've just looked at my sons and his changed before my eyes (twice, I waited to make sure it wasn't just me seeing things). It looks like a combination between a QR code and a regular bar code. There is no code on mine in my apple wallet.

I can't imagine it's an error/corruption, the club are bound to have said something if it was an error, corrected it, and told all android users to re-download their tickets, there has been a fair bit of noise on here about the "barcode" on android phones that they have to be aware of it.

If you are that concerned reach out to supporters services who will be able to advise if it will be readable by the scanners at the stadium or if it is an error.

Mine also flickers and changes.

Thanks - if there's loads of 'us' I'm not that bothered, I just thought I'd done something wrong.

I think individual match tickets are QRs, but the ST tickets may be (rectangular) barcodes……….I’ve got one of each in my wallet and that’s how it looks anyway.

FFS I was happy for all of 3 minutes.

I have the rectangular season pass in my wallet.

Fixture.... ..... Area.... ....Row/seat
Albion v
Watford

Rectangle barcode.

But no individual 'ticket', where's that?

If you’re talking about the ST and not the NHS App Vaccine pass then I’d be interested too in order to see if I can move my son’s to his phone.

Didn't they arrive in 2 separate links in the S/T email?

I just forwarded his ticket link onto Jnr's email from which he set it up on his phone.

The qr/bar code appears if your phone doesn't have NFC. NFC is what is used for contactless stuff so if it is missing the phone has to rely on creating a barcode. I've set up my son's ticket on his Android phone and no code as it has NFC which is enabled.

The reason it is changing is to stop naughty people taking a screenshot and sending it on to someone else to use.

Stupid question but what happens to the code if you turn your phone sideways?

No, no, no. No. If you DON'T have a ST, your INDIVIDUAL match ticket might be a QRC...whereas if you DO have a ST, that might be a rectangle.

Possibly:lolol::lolol:.

(That's how it looks to me at the moment anyway - the ticket for the friendly is a QRC, the Watford ticket a barcode)

Not correct - I've got NFC (and have used it for previous games) and have a code for both the Watford game (barcode) and the friendly (QRC)

That's curious as sat here with an android phone in my hand and have GPay open and no code displayed for me unless I click "show code".

It is a mite confusing if we are not techi. As I understand it you don't need a code if you have NFC but you do without NFC .

That was what I thought but I was replying to someone that said they have NFC but their Gpay was displaying a code. I'm guessing their NFC is actually turned off and they just don't realise it.

Yes.

Conversation number one ended with me agreeing to keep both tickets on my phone so I have both there. Now, let’s say something happens such as work or an emergency and I can’t go but he still can - well, he’s not having my phone and all its passwords.

So can you move them after downloading them?

I thought you get the code regardless - but first option is to use NFC.

Yes. My wife has a non NFC phone and I have just had email confirmation that you scan the code if that's the issue. The code option is there for every one presumably because the ticket sender can't know if your phone has NFC.
