Seagulls Player survey

I just got a survey emailed to me from the muppets in charge of the Seagulls Player. Did anyone else get it?

At the end of the survey they asked: Are there any issues you wish to tell us about the Club Player service?

I answered: Whenever I want to watch videos of highlights or whatever I HAVE TO LOGIN TWICE. Even then A LOT OF THE TIME the video DOES NOT WORK. Lots of people on Brighton's North Stand Chat Internet forum have the same complaints and some have NOT RENEWED their subscription as a result. I really hope you SORT THIS ISSUE OUT as I am a PAYING CUSTOMER and expect BETTER SERVICE. Thank you.

That is all

I haven't had the survey yet. I'll put in similar feedback when I get it.

In all honestly, now that the goals are available FREE on the beeb, I may well cease my subscription. Especially, now that I am usually playing rugby at 3pm on a Saturday so am not really around for the live commentaries.

i reckon i'll give it a miss next season as well.

they don't bother with the archive of old goals or classic matches anymore, if i dont go to games i listen on the radio anyway, and with all the goals available on iplayer and most of the player interviews available on the bbc website, its not worth it sadly.

The goals are FREE on the Beeb? I watched the goals that Goldstone Rapper uploaded yesterday. Were they from the Beeb? I can't watch the iplayer as I am in Japan. Bit of a bummer really as I am sure I would make plenty of use of that.

Yup, but only if you live in the UK. The goals appear on the BBC website with edited highlights of each match, although the highlights are only 2-3 minutes unlike the 5-8 minute highlights you tend to get on seagulls player. Seagulls player used to be essential if you lived outside the Southern Counties radio area. Now it is only essential if you live abroad. I, for one, would like to see a lot more exclusive content to justify the subscription.

Still praying for the day that I can WATCH Albion games LIVE on the player. I am sure Seagulls in exile (and there must be plenty of us dotted all over the planet) would sign up for this. Why don't the Albion offer this service, available to non-UK residents only. They would make extra revenue this way and it is not like it would affect ticket sales is it. I would be willing to pay the price of a season ticket for a live feed.

Is there anyway to cheat the BBC iplayer into recognizing your IP address as a UK one, by the way. Some tech bod must have worked their way round this by now.

If there is such a way-will it work for Canada and U.S. too? (Watching U.S. and Canadian tv in UK)

I've had no problems with it at all this season, which is a massive improvement on last year.....which I guess begs the question of why does it work on some computers and not others? If they could sort that out, they would be on to a winner.

Yeah, its strange. Whichever computer I use Player seems to have a mind of its own. I have just watched the Oldham highlights but for some reason couldn't watch an interview with Glenn Murray when I scrolled down the page. Weird

I think these inconsistencies are what is letting it down. The content is invaluable to an exile like me, I think they just need to sort out the tech side of it.

I am very disappointed with Seagulls Player.

It's slow and difficult to navigate. The Sign Out button doesn't work. I can't seem to access anything in the archive area. No idea how I'm supposed to view stories more than a month or two old. Doesn't seem to work properly whatever browser I use and I seem to have to install the latest version of Flash every time I log in. The whole site does my head in.

On the plus side my user name and password seems to give me access to every league club's version of player.

I am a Seagulls Player subscriber and agree it is pants. I often have to bugger about trying to get something to play, sometimes having to login several times.

You don't get the Goals from the games before they are live on the Beeb website.

I like the full blown interviews, but that is about it.

In fact, I hate the main website in general, but that is another matter !
