seagulls often MASSACRE our binbags on a thursday........the binmen don't come until about 1 or even 2pm, so even if we put them out in the morning they're gonna get f***ed by those flighty menaces

we definitely need those communal bins....they're great...problem is in hanover the roads are so tight and parking spaces are pretty much at full capacity so where would they go?

Must admit it is pretty shameful the state of Hanover, Elm Grove area when the students leave all their rubbish out in the recyle boxes that have lost the lids and them pesky seagulls rip whatever they find to shreds. Walking with relatives down town you kinda have to hang your head in shame as there are places up north cleaner !

Agree. I used to live on Park Crescent Road and the amount of rubbish everywhere was a disgrace. They need to get more of those nice big communal bins in place sharpish. It's a massive problem and in the interim there should be more pressure on landlords to make sure their tenants aren't taking the piss.

And you know the ones complaining about the amount of seagulls around waking them up at 5am will be the same ones leaving their rubbish out.

Agree, but some people are just ffing idiots where rubbish is concerned and not students. A woman on my road will put a black sack of rubbish out every Saturday, even though though our bin day is Friday and we've all got green bins. I've considered throwing them into her backgarden but she has kids, and I'd feel bad

landlords are only interested in their money, i'm sure if the council got a bit tougher on the subject they might sit up and take notice.

On the subject of students, well student types anyway, I went in to the Albert last night before the game and man alive!!

Some bearded berk came in wearing what I can only assume to be an ironic wooly hat (it has SPORT written in big letters on the side) asked the barman how much pretty much every drink was ordered a pint and then tried to pay by card!! Was promptly told he had to spend a fiver to pay by card and I thought he was going to cry! The daft thing is he stayed for at least 3 pints and was joined by a mate about 30 seconds later.

People who don't know how to order drinks shouldn't be allowed in pubs!

Such a shame as it's a decent pub and they had some very good beer on last night!

Probably because most students don't live around Brighton; they only spend 25-odd weeks of the year studying on campus, trashing the city in the process, and go home somewhere else for the rest of the year.
