Good luck.

My girlfriends Mum makes them and by the time she has got all the sausage meat on them they are huge. Homemade scotch eggs are much nicer than any supermarket crap.

I used to like them, but I had a Tesco one a few months ago that had a monumental lump of GRISTLE in ths sausagey bit. Put me right off them, it has.

If you like Scotch Eggs, you have got to go to Mr Egg in Birmingham.

Gonna be making my own this week too, I reckon. Will be using veggie sausage mix though. The propensity for a crumbly disaster is high, so much binding with eggs and flour will be essential.

Canhams (Have I spelt that correctly?) on Church Rd do huge cannon-ball sized ones for £1.50.

They are tremendous especially if you get them when they are still warm.

(i'd also recommend teaming this up with one of their mustard sausage rolls)

I would, but the last restaurant you recommended to me was shut (pernamently) when I went to sample the food.

My apologies Easy, out of interest which one was that??

Carltons Caribbean Cuisine??

I didn't know it had shut down, on my last visit to Wolverhampton it was heaving.

Controversial I know, but I prefer their little brother: the mini savoury.

Especially when you eat away the breadcrumbs, scoop out the egg section, and place it on a nice crisp alongside some Wenslydale.

Go for it, I used to make my own and they were lovely. One tip I will give is to use really fresh eggs if you can get them. Also I would recomend using very small eggs too, otherwise, due to the equation of Surface Area/Volume Ratio your pound of sausagemeat does not go very far.

Found it tricky to roll out the sausagemeat on the bread board and then lifting it,was easier to spread in the palm of my hand and then work the meat round ! Have to say taste rather nice :p Will have another go and try to 'spice them up'
