Watching some piss poor shite on C4 with ManYoo celebrity fan James Whatshisface from Cold Feet, and Leo Sayer - out of nothing - says he'd rather be watching Brighton and Hove Albion.

Well played little man. Suddenly the Peter Ward haircut all makes sense...

Don't think so. I seem to remember he's from Peacehaven, so it's his local club.

Westlain Grammar School.
Don't think he is a football fan.

Have heard Harry Enfield talk about watching games at the Goldstone.

It was part of 'Who Knows the Most About the Guest Host', and the question was what did Jimmy Nesbitt demand before signing a new contract at ITV to continue doing 'Coldfeet', the answer was that he would get tickets to see Manchester United in the Champions League Final in 1999. Then Leo said, 'Aaarggh what did you want them for?', then Jimmy asked him what he would have instead, and his reply was 'Tickets to go and see my Brighton & Hove Albion'

I wonder if Billy Idol is a Seagulls fan coming from Worthing as he does.

Used to have a contact to Billy Idol mind you it was when he was with Generation X some 25 years ago.

Would you like me to do a bit of groundwork on it only it could take another 25 years to find out!!

I might be wrong. I was told by a friend years ago that he remembered Gerry Sayers(real name) at Westlain. Must have been wrong.

You are correct that his real surname is Sayers which was my maternal grandmother's maiden name.
