I saw it last night. f*** me, that was probably the SICKEST film I have ever seen. I should have known from the fact that on arrival, there was a bright yellow "Caution" cleaning sign beside one of the aisles, presumably where someone had puked up. Three people got up and walked out during the "fully concious open brain surgery" scene, which actually made me feel a bit nauseus as well.

That was just a bit OTT even for my tastes. I couldn't wait for it to end, to be honest. Gruesome.

There is talk of the 4th being a prequel. Apparently the bloke who plays Jigsaw has signed for 5 sequels. Although of these some may or may not include flashbacks

Naah. I wanted to see The Departed, but apparently, thats more of a "boys film" according to the missus. Saw 2 was average, so I wasn't all that fussed about seeing this one, and it lived down to my expectations. Gore for the sake of it, and plotholes a-plenty.

I mean, how the hell could Jigsaw POSSIBLY go out and find that woman who he had strung up for not coming forward as a witness to the accident that killed that blokes son ? It was daft.

** UPDATE **
This is on the BBC today:

Staff at a UK cinema have had to call emergency services three times in one night because of a spate of people passing out during horror film Saw III.
One woman was taken to hospital and two other adults had to be treated by medics after they fainted in Stevenage.
And in a separate case, a man collapsed at a cinema in Peterborough "due to the film's content".

"If you know you're squeamish, don't go," warned a spokesman for the East of England Ambulance Service. "This is obviously a blood-thirsty film. Some of the scenes are fairly horrific," Matthew Ware told the BBC News website.
All the incidents took place on Friday evening, one of the busiest nights of the week for emergency crews, he added. "Taking three ambulances out of the system on a Friday could potentially be a problem", said Mr Ware.A woman in her twenties was discharged from the Lister Hospital in Stevenage after being treated. And the two other cinemagoers - who had been at the town's Cineworld complex - were left "in the care of friends and relatives" without needing to be taken to hospital.

A man aged 34 fainted at the Showcase in Peterborough, Mr Ware said. There was also a case of a 22-year-old woman passing out at Cineworld in Cambridge on Friday, but it had not been confirmed that she was watching Saw III, he added. The slasher movie - currently number one at the North American box office - was released last week in the UK. A spokeswoman for the Cineworld chain said they did not wish to comment.

All I can say is, I'm NOT surprised. That film is absolutely f***ing GHASTLY. At one point, I went into a slightly clammy cold sweat and had to stare into my popcorn till the nasty bit went away. The last time I had a physical reaction to a film (other than a stiffy), was when I got goosebumps at the end of The Ring.

That sounded rude, didn't it.

Saw 1 and 2 were excellent horrors 7.3 and 7.6, sounds like this one has gone ott. I may get it on dvd but like Hard Candy it is one where I think the subject matter manipulates people.

The next one to see will be The Prestige with the Balester and Casion Royale with Daniel Craig who was very good in Munich is worth a look.

With Spielberg taking a holiday for a year there are slim pickings this year, 2006, hardly a vintage
