Why change a winning formula, makes you wonder who makes these idiotic decisions.

Signed yesterday. Agree with previous posts: There's plenty of bars within walking distance of the Battle showing live football. It's a decent old school pub with reasonably priced beer and always friendly staff. It's not broken. Don't fix it.

Where is BG when you need him? I'm sure he would have something to say on the subject, especially given his time in the licensed trade.

A 'proper boozer'?

If that means a packet of nuts, a pint of Pride, smelly bogs and tired decor, then yeah.

Not sure about a sports bar but it certainly could do with a refurb.

Should be one of the most popular places in Brighton with that beer garden.

sports bar with multiple screens ( hopefully a couple outside )

Sounds EXACTLY what is needed match days around Brighton station.

Sorry to say wont be signing

Why not drink in the others already providing this environment then? You can enjoy a pissy lager and lots of police watching you whilst you’re at it. Not forgetting the warm welcome by in the line of fire wannabe types!

We wrote letters a few weeks ago. Enterprise Inns are unlikely to listen though. Some pubescent with a spreadsheet in Birmingham’s already made the decision,

It had definitely gone downhill (not literally) when I went in there recently.

I don't mind nothing had changed, but the beer isn't great and the food is worse. That said, we don't need another sports bar.

Shocker. Pub next to queue of 200000 people is busy.

Doesn't mean it's not dated.

I am not sure about gutting it entirely but new furniture, paint, carpet and a wider range of beers and the place would be onto a winner. Sadly they've neglected it a bit and clearly aren't pulling in the money the pubco thinks it could make.

Wonder how many people who sign the petition actually class themselves as proper regular customers though.

Is that a requirement to sympathise with the situation? I haven't lived in Brighton for a long time now but still signed andI probably wouldn;t have been a regular customer at the time (due to lack of funds :) )

There's definitely more capacity for sports bars around the station. The bell gets rammed on matchdays. The Welly and Caxton have more people there for the food than the sport.

There's also plenty of other run down pubs in walking distance of that's what floats your boat and you don't want a sports bar.
