A group backed by individuals from Saudi Arabia and the United States has signed an exclusivity agreement to buy out Eagle Football and take a 45 per cent stake in Premier League club Crystal Palace, sources briefed on the proposed deal have told The Athletic.

The group, which includes Dallas Mavericks head coach Jason Kidd, former Morgan Stanley sports executive Bejan Esmaili and former Roc Nation attorney executive Wajid Mir, has had an offer for Eagle’s shares accepted.

I'm surprised that Wet Sham, Charlton and Millwall haven't been bought out.
Any London club is a potential vehicle for 'sports-washing' for want of a better term.

Predictably mental gymnastics on steroids.
Whataboutery, the British Empire, a need to see black n white evidence of crimes committed by the Saudi individuals involved before condemning them.
Loving the view that there is a distinction between ‘Saudi government money’ and ‘money from ordinary Saudi investors’:laugh:

I saw that false dichotomy on fightingcock when they thought they were getting a Qatari £1b minority investment in 2023. Money rabid posters said it was all alright because it was an ‘investment fund’.

Looks like they are coming in to help Textor eventually leverage a full buy out. You can’t blame Parish want to eventually leave that hole of a ground.

Who the Saudis are though, and where their cash is from, is a mystery.

My bet is that Parish will always want to be a part of it. Personal wealth creation if it becomes something with the inexorable rise of the PL and very much ego. He’d hate to become yesterday’s man like DK, Goldberg or Jordan, even with money in the bank. Of course he’d claim he’d want to be a part of it for the greater good.

The most curious thing..
They're going to be disappointed when they find out it isn't actually a palace in London they're buying.
and not much crystal either. Mostly shards of broken glass.
