Whilst I agree that Saturday's ref was not the best in the world and very whistle happy, can I register my disgust at the " fans" who were shouting abuse relating to his disbility!

How is it relevant that because he has a "short arm" this hinders his ability - or lack of it as a referee.

I think there are some Albion fans who need to take a long look at themselves and their lack of decency.

And whilst we are at it, I could mention the Jeremy Beadle comments on here too.

I talk here as someone who has experience in theese matters.

I was in the J block and i didn't notice any disability related chants! In fact i didn't even notice he was disabled!Fair enough we were giving him some stick but only the usual "tenner on the game" type stuff. As 4 Jeremy Beadle's hand, well, each to their own!????

Too true, although the quality of officials has been pretty poor this year it no way excuses the abuse they get, especially any directed at physical disability.

We shout at the officials far too easily as an excuse when a player has made a mistake.

Without the we couldnt play! So give them a break and get behidn the team instead, sat was a bit quiet for my liking!

The ref seemed to have the whistle constantly in his mouth in the first half.

Our two quick goals coincided with the longest spell in the game without a free-kick being given.

He never got his book out of his pocket once (and no comments about deep pockets and.......please)

I must be going blind and deaf. I didn't notice a disability or hear any chants.

What will be my next sense to go?

I didn't notice any disability-related abuse, but if there was any, the culprits should be ashamed!:nono:

I sit in J block at the front of the singing section. I can assure anyone who wasn't there that there was absolutley no reference to the Mr Keith Hill, the ref's short arm in any of the singing or even the odd wisecrack. I only noticed it about ten minutes before the end myself.

It didn't stop him from being the usual whistle happy lunatic but that's nothing unusual at this level. 'The ref has got a tenner on a game' chants were perfectly suitable for the ocassion.

Why can't they let the game flow a little? Mr Joe Ross (& his ochestra, perhaps) at the Blackpool game wasn't at all bad in this respect I thought. More of this & less of the Prossers & Hills of this world.
