Does anyone use a non sky dish to get football from other countries?
Just investigating to try and save cash by getting rid of Sky & Setanta.
Have used P2P streams but they aren’t the best and not reliable.
I know some pubs did (and I bet a couple still do) get foreign channels and publicised 3pm Saturday games.

Thanks in advance.

You used to be able to get german premiere sports (their own version of sky sports) but I think they've toughened up the encryption.

http://www.liveonsat.com is a good place to start, shows you what satellite and encryption matches have.

You can get a Canal+ card from Scandinavia. I pay about 20 quid a month in Denmark and get 3 channels showing different games on Saturday, the early and late games and virtually all the week games (Premiershite). Bit like using Sky abroad you'd need to get a card from Scandinavia somehow, which is easy if you know someone, otherwise maybe not so. You'd probaly have to point your dish in an odd direction too, but you get the added bonus of hardcore Scandinavian porn after midnight.

if you get a motorised dish and decent satellite receiver you will be able to watch football and other programmes by taking advice offered on websites such as alsat , satpimps and geronimosden.

Cheers guys. Good stuff. I have a contact who has family in Denmark.
FYI - MYP2P . eu has banned direct links pending legal action. Still can get some from their Forum - hence I have seen Heskey score on his Villa debut whilst listening to SCR.
If anyone knows pubs that used to screen games from abroad, please could you let me know and I'll see if I can get any advice from the landlords!

The 3pm games were screened with official cards in a satellite receiver. They subscribed to broadcaster's packages in Albania and Greece. The Prem League & Sky sent in investigators to pubs showing these matches and have tried to prosecute landlords as they believe only Sky and Setanta have the rights to show live Prem games in the UK which is against the EU's stance on free choice in watching satellite TV in Europe.
