Why oh why oh why?
He flew to Gatwick from Spain on Friday - he was on my son's flight. Is JS even back with the team training yet? Hard for Hurzeler to say if he'll get minutes if he's not even met him.

Cardiff would be a decent opportunity to show what he can do. Look at what going to Coventry did for Gykores!Cardiff?
Aberdeen?
Jeez, his star seems to have fallen
I wouldn't fly anywhere if Cardiff are organising the flight.Cardiff would be a decent opportunity to show what he can do. Look at what going to Coventry did for Gykores!

Went to the Copa America with Ecuador so makes sense he’s a bit later reporting back for pre season. Is JS even back with the team training yet? Hard for Hurzeler to say if he'll get minutes if he's not even met him.
Agree. He just has a bit of x factor.I’m starting to believe that he’ll make the squad.
Goal scoring is an absolutely critical skill to have and Jeremy has being scoring for us and his country. Whilst he is very similar to Enciso, I think Buonanotte takes a development loan in order to find a place for Sarmiento in the attacking midfield/winger positions.
Yes, it's a funny thing with loan spells - I thought Ayari (waste of space according to Coventry fans, and hardly any better than the woeful Moran at Blackburn) looked quite sharp, and Jensen Weir (weak, ineffective, never up to League1 standard according to Port Vale) seemed comfortable enough as a midfielder playing at CB!Agree. He just has a bit of x factor.
I don't really care if he's had mixed loan spells. When I've seen him for us he's mostly been very good. I think he has done enough on tour to play himself into the starting line up at Goodison. Then we'll see.
I think he's one of those who's career success will be determined by whether he can keep himself free from injury.
I think it’s a bit harsh to describe Moran at Blackburn as woeful. True he was better in the first half of the season and it seemed like the managerial change didn’t help him. I agree with your main point though which I took as being no necessary congruence between loan spells and latent talent.Yes, it's a funny thing with loan spells - I thought Ayari (waste of space according to Coventry fans, and hardly any better than the woeful Moran at Blackburn) looked quite sharp, and Jensen Weir (weak, ineffective, never up to League1 standard according to Port Vale) seemed comfortable enough as a midfielder playing at CB!
I didn't. Blackburn fans on their fans forum did.I think it’s a bit harsh to describe Moran at Blackburn as woeful. Don't forget Norwich fans completely dismissing Gilmour as absolutely useless and nowhere near up to Championship standard.Yes, it's a funny thing with loan spells - I thought Ayari (waste of space according to Coventry fans, and hardly any better than the woeful Moran at Blackburn) looked quite sharp, and Jensen Weir (weak, ineffective, never up to League1 standard according to Port Vale) seemed comfortable enough as a midfielder playing at CB!
Fair point. Not the obvious game-changer for kick and rush and clog I guess.Don't forget Norwich fans completely dismissing Gilmour as absolutely useless and nowhere near up to Championship standard.
The line at goodison won’t be the first 11 choice for season.Agree. He just has a bit of x factor.

Sarmiento would need to be named in the PL squad. The cut off for U21 is players born on or after Jan 1st 2003.I can’t see him in the squad next year if, being 22, he’s now old enough to take one of the 25 spots, or does the fact that was still 21 on 1st Jan 2024 mean he’s still classed as U21?
My reasoning is that he didn’tbecome a starter at either of his Championship loans, and in the end got fewer league minutes in a 46 match league season than Buenanotte got with us in 38 PL matches.
