Big boss used to live there and swore by the Haunch Of Venison. Went there only once, to his daughter's engagement do, and it was indeed very very splendid. Not sure if its normally full of brick shithouses straight off the SAS selection course, but certainly was that night, literally, incl. girl's fiancee. Tremendous pub!

Wheatsheaf, just 2 miles up a36 at Wilton, you will need to pass it to get to longleat
