Got my ticket for Stockport at home next week just yesterday, but when/where would you like to see the guarantee off safety ( assuming of course we do secure it ).

A big part of me says I'd like the assurance of safety today ( so we do not have to endure another nervous week, had too many of those lately ) but a big part of me also says I'd like us to have to achieve a maximum of a point next week to guarantee our survival. It would also make for a good crowd and probably an excellent atmosphere at Withers next week. And would the ticker stand it !!!!

What about you ?

Having it come down to the last game of the season is always thrilling... but safety today would be best i think...

today. With the twist and turns of this season and our home record. Next week would be way to stressful

Going into the last day needing a point to be 100% but without getting it we will be safe anyway would be the best for me. Good atmosphere but the nerves are a bit calmer

Had this chat with my mates. Would be good to go the last game and do it, but I would only want that if I get a guarantee we will stay up. Which kind of defeats the object. So let's win today then have a right old ding-dong-doo next week!

Ideally, win today and then party next week and sing songs of love and adoration for THE man, Russell Slade. :albion2:

Can someone clarify for me exactly what needs to happen in order for us to secure safety today?

We win, Carlisle don't win, we're up.

(Mathematically, Cheltenham could still overtake us with three massive wins - all by more than six goals - but I think we can count that out).)

The preferred option-only I will be en route to Bulgaria on Saturday so partying will have to wait until I get the result(s).

So Carlisle can draw and a win for us would still be enough?

Cheers for clearing that up, I was half under the assumption that Carlisle would have to lose (rather than just not win) for us to have a chance at getting it done today.

Yep - we win - 51 points; if Carlisle draw, the maximum they can get with a win on the last day would be 50.

(Was wrong about Cheltenham, BTW - if we win they can't catch us anyway)

We've still got to win this ruddy match, though - and Huddersfield are a decent team, 9th. in the table and no pushovers! Chickens not ready to be counted yet!
