And by the same token, Chesterfield (the REAL champions the season before), Brentford, Wycombe, Bury, Peterborough United, Notts County and Wrexham are all in Division 4 - those last two fighting to stay in the league. Cambridge aren't in the league, and Bournemouth are fighting for their survival.
So why did you choose the end of 2002 as your yardstick? Why not the end of the 1999/2000 season (our first at Withdean), or the 1996/97 season? Or the 1964/65 season?
Totally random argument amounting to... f*** all.
My point being is that we are invariably in the third tier of English football. When we get out of it we can't stay out of it for any length of time..............
in 2002 I felt we were a club on the up - now I fear we have just slipped back into our "comfort zone" of Division 3 and it is getting increasingly difficult to sustain any progress wemight make. Its all one night stands rather than love affairs
