Rumour last night was that we offered him a contract to play for Sussex next season. Could do a job?

Yeah, I saw that. Apparently we've made an official approach under the 28 day rule as he's out of contract at Notts.

Could do a job.

Has there been a story anywhere or is this just a rumour still?

Would be a good signing as he seems out of the test set-up now, so at least would play a fair few games for us.

Sussex have also made a 28-day approach for Derbyshire's former England A all-rounder Graham Wagg, who is also a left-arm seamer. But Wagg, who is out of contract at the end of the season, is expected to join Glamorgan, who submitted their 28-day approach earlier in the season.

Sidebottom would be a good signing, he's obviously a very similiar bowler to Lewry. But i'd be wary of his shitty attitude to team-mates especially if as we have Monty in the side

great signing if we can get him

The county were also interested in signing Derbyshire’s Graham Wagg – another left-armer – but he is expected to move to Glamorgan.

shame with both of them we would have had alot stronger bowling attack

Didn't Eoin Morgan say a few weeks back that we were one of the counties chasing him for next season?
We don't want him - he's too good. I know that sounds stupid but as there's a good chance he'll be playing for England in all three formats we'd never see him. A bit like Kevin Pietersen and Hampshire.

I agree having England players coming in and out of the team is disruptive enough, having a fourth, and them all being batsmen would be a disaster

I hope they don't sign him up as a replacement for CHAD. He got a wicket last night!

That one doesn't count... it was an inside edge. Every other ball was spanked for four.. well not quite, but it felt that way.
