Great player. Only 41. Can't read this news without thinking there is a connection.

Dementia is the cruelest illness of all. Really sad.

That is so brutal. One of my biggest fears would be getting dementia so young, it must be terrifying. It's a dual sentence too as his whole family will have to watch the decline. Very sad

Nothing will change, nor will it in the NFL, where many ex players are physically and mentally rendered old men in their 30s, in fact worse than old men.

He must be about the 6th high profile player of his generation to be diagnosed recently, or at least gone public about it. There may well be others who don’t want to publicise their condition. When you read about the management (or lack of) of concussions during the era these players played in, it is not wholly surprising to read about this diagnoses (but no less sad and shocking).

That's an incredibly sad read. I can only hope that it is a very slow progression so he can have what he has for as long as possible.
