I apologise, but I don’t. I read so much! It’ll come up again I’m sure when they use it in the coming weeks (my prediction) and I will share the reports then when they occur. Sorry! What I read re the new sub drone was VERY brief. (Actually saw a vid of testing a week or so ago too I think.) It’s BIG! A very big torpedo shaped thing. Reminded me of that death trap that visited the titanic recently. Makes sense though doesn’t it and in reality all the tech is available for this kind of application. I’m just surprised it’s not been done before but their immediate needs in Ukraine right now are very real/motivating and it’s just a case of tweaking/modifying everything they have learnt from developing the drone boats. Ukraine are EXCELLING in the development of cheap/sustainable/modern/adaptable/dynamic/mobile warfare (with the help of their allies obviously) in their fight against ultimately bigger numbers and huge/expensive/outdated equipment deployed by the Russians. The Russians role out a tank that costs 10’s of millions and the Ukrainians kill it with a £100 drone. Again and again and again, and the Russians are so arrogant and stubborn, they just don’t seem to learn or adapt at all. It’s brilliant!
Many thanks for that! I too read a lot and often a reference escapes me before I've decided if i want to keep the link!
As you say, the drone missile sub will resurface 😉. Creativity driven by the needs of war - Ukraine is very resourceful.

This is OLD but gives you some idea of where they were a few months back…the testing I saw this week was of the bigger one that gets the briefest of mentions in the vid at one point, and it is BIG because I saw the size of it compared to the men that were loading it into the water!

In my view this war has hit something of an impasse. With no more information than anyone else it seems to be that neither side are really achieving very much. I worry this might play into Putin's hands as the attention of the West could drift and then of course we have Trump next year. Putin might be thinking that he can play the long game, mad Donald takes the reins and lets Putin get on with it
The US election isn't until Nov 5, 2024, and inauguration isn't until Jan 20, 2025. Even if the orange idiot somehow gets in Biden has more than one full year to set Ukraine up with what it needs.

If the F16s really do arrive by end of year then Ukraine will have a big advantage in the air for most of next year, they are talked up as the game changer.

Also, while Ukraine hasn't taken huge parcels of land back in this counter offensive they have successfully isolated Crimea, they have taken back land, they have cleared minefields, they have advanced past russia's first line of trenches and are supposedly beyond the second line in Robotyne, they are making slow but steady gains, and all of this while dealing with russia blowing the Kakhovka dam.

This terrorist attack by russia is wearying, and we all have less optimistic days now and then, but Ukraine is still achieving incredible results.

The trouble is that it isn't too many weeks until the mud comes back so my expectations are re-setting a bit.

I'd love Ukraine to take back the whole of Kherson Oblast, cut off Crimes and lay seige to the nuclear power plant before the weather deteriorates.
