Yeh, Jenkins has been going on about sanctions being a mistake since the start. What are we supposed to do carry on like nothing is happenning?
There's clear evidence that his war machine is being damaged by sanctions and the Russian economy is demonstrably in a worse state than before the war. They were clearly never going to win the war or unseat Putin on their own

I have to say it doesn't surprise me at all, there are obviously Russian soldiers/mercenaries whose morals mirror Putins. Despicable, cruel people. Just as bad as the Nazis imo

Thanks for posting. This thread does need to stay high up.
And sanctions do work. Of course they do. They're not instant and they're not without risk, but they heap pressure on the regime. We must all remember this when we get our October energy bill!

Yes, thanks for that. I've always been of the opinion that the sanctions absolutely are working.
A few statistics:
1100-1200 foreign multinational companies have packed their bags.
35-40% unemployment (not sure if that was just in Moscow) according to their own TASS news agency.
Brain drain of 500,000 - 700,000 IT professionals have left Russia
Russia cannot pivot east, to sell oil and gas to China and India, as the pipelines don't exist.
Tankers take 35 days to get to those markets.
Without commodity exports, Russia has no way to earn foreign cash.
Russia has $600bn in reserves, but half of that is locked in by the sanctions
No inward investment from the west.
With some hard compromises, he thinks Russia can hang on for two years.

Putin only respects strength and stamps all over any weaknesses. You can't talk peace with him. He'll only be dragged kicking and screaming to the negotiating table when his economy is in tatters and his armed forces largely destroyed. How naive of Corbyn.

Apart from on Youtube , do you honestly believe we have seen EVERYTHING the Americans have ,maybe we even have a few tricks up our sleeve . After all we invented the Tank ,the Dreadnought ,Radar ,Sonar , ASDIC, Sir Frank Whittle invented the Jet engine after patented it in 1930 , a full 14 years before the 262 ever flew .We invented the Aircraft Carrier , the hurricane bow the angled flight deck the landing light system and the catapult launch system ,our electronics are even in American satellites but hey what do i know,apart from we HAVE seen all the Russian (released) military and it SUCKS.
Corbyn is as much a Putin-stooge as most of the senior Tories, he just hides it better.
