Or Tim Sherwood and Paul Ince two of a few who turned us down ?
No to Martin, btw, no experience and doesn't like us either !

Deepest, darkest Sussex
Living within the Southampton hinterland I do hear a lot of negatives about him putting players in wrong positions and being very dogged in some tactics which don't work
To be fair, this does make him sound like the ideal de Zerbi replacement

Remember when every made up story said it was going to be Nathan Jones?

The last 'he used to play for us' manager appointment we made was Dean Wilkins in 2006 and the last 'he was born in Sussex' was Tommy Cook in 1947. As chairman Tony Bloom has hired Poyet, Garcia, Hyppia, Hughton, Potter & RDZ, only Hughton seemed like an easily predictable choice. I'm not saying that Bloom wouldn't appoint an up and coming manager from the Championship, but to get on the list, you'd have to pass the data test. When he does need to replace RDZ TB will cast his net far and wide and the list will include candidates that no journo could easily make up a story about after a minute's pen sucking.

I trust the club. Let’s face it, they have far superior insight than anyone on here!!

A manager that on paper looks a good fit for us but would be disaster IMO.

Went on an incredible run earlier on in the season but Southampton have an obscene budget at that level. I think he'd struggle with us, play good football but we'd leak goals and probably be fighting relegation.

Personally, I think RDZ will stay another season as I can't see a big enough club taking a punt but when he does go it will probably present the club with the biggest challenge of the Bloom era in terms of getting the right successor.

I’d be incredibly disappointed if he was our manager

Just cannot see it as a match either for us or for him. Guess people talking about it have to give a name but it's bound to be someone obscure we've barely heard of if happens.

Looking at the Southampton fans forum, they seem to think this is unlikely. They aren’t that impressed themselves with RM for his stubbornness to his ‘possession at all costs’ style.
One suggests that the ‘report’ may be a play by his agent due to Jason Wilcox leaving. Wilcox being the person who recruited Martin.
If Southampton don’t go up many think RM will be sacked due to their significantly higher budget than others.
