Signed from Aberdeen for Sunderland for £1,000,000. Waived his right to 25% of transfer fee ( £250,000 ) and gave it to Aberdeen. :clap2::clap2:

Anyone heard of anyone doing that before???

In the Sun it said it was 90k (signing on fee) which he donated to the Don's youth set up as he came up through the ranks.Whatever the fee that really shows there are some decent pro players out there who are greatfull for what the club has done.
Well done to that man:falmer:

Nice gesture, although the cynic in me can't help assuming that it was worth his while to do so, whether perhaps Aberdeen told him they wouldn't let him go unless he forgot about the loyalty clause on the signing on fee etc. Sunderland are a Premiership club, bound to be paying significantly better wages than Aberdeen.

Oh screw it, let's all imagine he really did it out of the kindness of his little heart, spread a little happiness about, folks.

Now I rate myself a cynic but that scenario never occurred to me.....but now you mention it:laugh:
