Not sure if mentioned elsewhere but deserves it's own thread. This is an outrageous finish![Tweet]984158964798578688[/tweet]

He's a cut above that level.

There's a chance Cardiff or Fulham could break or equal our 'highest points tally to not get promoted' record this year.

Fulham are on 81 with ith 4 games left so would need 3 wins or 2 wins and 2 draws.

Cardiff are on 80 with 5 games left so would need 3 wins and a draw or 2 wins and 3 draws.

Said a few days back, Cardiff will fall away with their run-in. Fulham will get an automatic with 88-90 pts.

And yes, I was surprised the Ruben Neves transfer wasn't talked about more. He could easily have walked into most PL/European sides, he was a mainstay in Porto's team and regularly played in Europa/CL. This wasn't some bencher not getting games they managed to buy, it was a full international and the heart and soul and future prospect of what is a massive and historic football club (which he supports). And he signed for feckin wolves....

Well aware it is Mendes basically in charge of that football club now (ironic since their fans are more anti-modern football than most) but I didn't realise he had influence enough to convince a player who is already clearly good enough for the top level to waste a year in the English second tier. That said, I doubt he will play a PL game for them.

Does that make him better than Christiano "the only footballer ever to score with an overhead kick" Ronaldo?

Ashley Barnes' goal was remarkably similar to CR's!

Hopefully, Mendes will make sure Neves gets a move away from Wolves this summer - it would weaken them significantly and halt their fans' delusional talk of challenging for the top four next season.

Survival is not good enough for lots of Wolves' fans - Europa League or a cup at least.

Only technically superior. The sycophantic babbling from pundits and commentators is tiresome bordering on irksome. Apparently scoring a penalty last night made Ronaldo "the best player in the world"........realistically "better than Glen Murray" might be more accurate.

It's a giant leap, but they are getting promoted into a shite division with lots of shite teams.

If you can go 3 months without winning and still have more than half an eye on a Europa spot why shouldn't Wolves fans think they can reach that coveted 7th place.

Saw it live on Sky last night, incredible strike.

In contrast to those seeing the €€€€ Wolves resurgence going wrong next season, quite the opposite will happen. With the Mendes connection and PL money, they'll acquire great players early in the summer transfer window. Then playing good football next season, Wolves will surprise a whole load of people who haven't watched them this season and stay up with ease. All money driven, but it's the way of the football world. Where would Bmuff (who also broke FFP and got fined) be now, without Maxim's Russian money, in their 10,000 lego stadium?

In all fairness, there was a 5 min delay before he got round to taking it, huge pressure and then for him to smash it into the top corner like he did, it took balls.

It's an excellent goal, but I can't help feeling it is- as seems to be the way- being slightly overhyped due to the fact that he's the standout player in that league. If it had been scored by, say, Matt Doherty or Barry Douglas, there wouldn't be quite so much fawning over it. Some are calling it the goal of the season, decade, century etc. Ridiculous. Exactly the same happens in the Premier League, whereby goals scored by (for example) Kevin De Bruyne are rated higher than ones of equal technical merit by the likes of Izquierdo.
