Am stuck in County hospital at the mo, there is a Subway in here but is there anywhere close I can get something decent to eat. Can't walk far. Thx.

This walk down Abbey Rd it hits St Georges go left at bottom. Round trip about 400m (once round the track).

I once made it from kemptown shops to RSCH with a collapsed lung so hopefully you are up to the return journey. Real Patisserie could do the job.

It seems a bit odd there's not a lot very close, I would have thought a hospital would attract business - especially food given what we get in here. Actually, the food here is basic, generally edible, just so little of it.

Most kind, but I have to be careful what I eat. It would be nice to have a choice from somewhere though.

It is very kind of you, but I suspect with visitors and Subway I'll be ok today. It was more out of curiosity as I seem to be here quite a lot at the moment and was wondering if there's anywhere of interest to wander to foodwise.

Yup, there is. I can't drink coffee really, but I may head down there shortly for a tea ..... if I can get them to decouple me from this drip.

The Royal Alex, at main car park entrance level, although within the RSCH complex has a decent cafe and shop.

Son has been there with his daughter quite often he said to go The Queen Alexandra wing (childrens hospital) and there is a Costa, Subway and cafe thinks its called Moments and is quite reasonable the only problems with it is timing ie breakfast until about 10.30 then lunch then dinner.

St Georges Road is a less than 5 minute walk from the hospital and has a couple of cafes, a chip shop, a deli and if you're feeling fancy then 24 St Georges is open for lunch on Saturdays.

Yup, I think Moments is next to Subway, not been in there though.

The Royal Sussex County Hospital
Pebbles Restaurant is adjacent to the Royal Alexandra Children’s
Hospital and is open seven days a week: Monday to Friday, from
7.00am to 7.30pm; Saturday and Sunday, 9.00am to 4.00pm
Opposite the hospital on Eastern Road is the Audrey Emerton
Building and on the top floor is the Terrace Restaurant which
serves a variety of hot and cold dishes, sandwiches and hot
drinks from 8.00am until 5.00pm Monday to Friday.
The Barry Building kiosk is just inside the main entrance next to
the WH Smith shop, open every day, 8.00am to 8.00pm.
The Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital
The WRVS café on the ground floor (Women's Royal Voluntary
Services) sells hot and cold food.
